Nikki Glaser has built a career on ruffling feathers with her controversial, sometimes polarizing brand of comedy, so it’s no surprise such was the response to her first-time hosting gig of the Golden Globes on Sunday night (January 5).
And while she took it relatively easy on celebrities in attendance at the Beverly Hilton, there were some viewers at home who took particular offense to comedic jabs she threw at Diddy.
Glaser garnered a few uncomfortable laughs during her Golden Globes monologue after she redirected praise of Zendaya‘s ‘Challengers‘ to Diddy disses.
“And ‘Challengers,’ girl? Oh, my God, it was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card,” she relayed. “I mean, seriously. Oh, no, no, I know, I’m sorry. I’m upset, too. The afterparty’s not going to be as good this year, but we have to move on. I know, a Stanley Tucci freak-off just doesn’t have the same ring to it, but… No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”
The quips got the attention of attorney Ariel Mitchell who represents the alleged Diddy rape victim Ashley Parham that’s suing him for $50 million.
Taking to TMZ, Mitchell blasted Glaser for making jokes about sexual assault and hopes Nikki herself “has never been sexually assaulted or mocked for it.”
Echoing Ariel’s sentiment was Tyrone Blackburn, a legal rep for representing Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones who is suing Diddy for $30 million, who told TMZ he’d “expect a comedian of Nikki’s success to be skilled enough to find humor that doesn’t make light of drugging and rape.”
At the time of this report, Glaser, CBS, nor representatives from the Golden Globes have issued a statement in response to the criticism.

Nikki is funny, hence higher ratings! It’s a comedian’s job to make light of a heavy celeb hot topic. The late comedy legend, Joan Rivers, was making 9/11 jokes as soon as NYC comedy clubs had opened back up. That Diddy victims’ attorney lost all credibility when she, allegedly, wanted celebs to buy back their freak-off tapes from her. 👀 Newsflash: networks know the host’s brand of humor and approve jokes in advance. And it’s not like Bill Cosby made that joke.
Did she talk about Luigi murdering that ceo in cold blood? I don’t watch these shows anymore or know who she is, but I bet her stiff white as$ didn’t. Racists love to use black people as the target of their aggression. Hope she’s getting he11.
That was a celeb event. Diddy was a celeb who threw celeb afterparties. Sensical to use him in a celeb event context. Was Luigi a celeb? No. Did he throw celeb after parties? No. So, why would she joke about him?!? Nikki will likely save the “finding a criminal hot” bit for interviews/ comedy specials (à la Jeremy Hot Felon). Let’s play the common sense card, as opposed to throwing around the race one.
He is a celeb made famous by white ppl after murdering a white man. He has fans with signs at his hearings, large sm following, so point stands. She knew not to address ANY WHITE convicts. She could have used Abercrombie and fitch CEO too. She was sent to take digs at that black man and not the whites. Race card will remain in full effect as long as racism is permitted. You’re probably a white or a c***.
Again, Diddy (as a widely known entertainment mogul) is most relevant to an entertainment event; hence the reference widely understood by the audience (vs. a random shoooter or the CEO of a clothing brand nbody Ariana Grande’s age has heard of.) Plus, Nikki is an out-there comic with brutal jokes to celebs’ faces on Roasts—not your fault you’re unfamiliar with her material and/or humor. Where you’re at fault is being a monster’s apologist JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE HIS SKIN COLOR and resorting to insults to defend an opinion you’re, obviously, stubbornly attached to. Comics and award shows honchos can’t help that YOUR HERO did what he, allegedly, did. End of discussion, snowflake. The End.
Sorry whitey but we’re not done just yet. Firstly what I said stands. It does not matter the audience, Luigi is a glorified killer which I notice you seem to support by not denouncing his actions as if they are worse than the alleged r***** you speak on of Diddy who has not had a trial and no video evidence as of current showing his rapes. He is a celeb by way of his killing which instantly received positive feedback from ppl like you. So regardless of his career, ppl know the story dummy. Next up, i’m not a fault for sh!t lol. You walk around acting like you don’t have an expiration date, but God will judge you based on HIS standards, not just the ones you don’t like. By HIS standards we have all committed gross sin. Diddy does have my support as a black man because white ppl stand but their criminals without question! You d@mn right lol. NOW this conversation has concluded since I have said what I needed to.
