As shown above, the host revealed on Instagram that she has tested positive for COVID after viewers noticed she seemed under the weather in recent episodes. Her message came just a day after reports confirmed that ‘Sherri’ will conclude later this year following four seasons in syndication.
Shepherd thanked supporters when sharing the news, saying:
“Wow! I am completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for me and The @sherrishowtv . You might’ve noticed that yesterday and today I was struggling because I wasn’t feeling up to speed. Well it turns out I have Covid. As soon as I feel better and return to the show, I will address all of the news that has come out. Until then, I am truly grateful that SHERRI has made such an impact on you! See ya soon❤️”
Meanwhile, comedian Loni Love publicly questioned why the announcement did not come directly from Shepherd herself, saying:
“Sherri should have been given the courtesy of announcing her show’s end instead of an article announcing it. (Just like Kelly got to announce her show’s end.)”
Despite the cancellations, new episodes of ‘Sherri’ are set to air through the remainder of the season.
