Unveiled today (March 23), the teaser offers a sweeping glimpse at the reimagined island adventure, with newcomer Catherine Laga’aia stepping into the titular role while fan-favourite Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson reprises his role as the larger than life demigod Maui.
From his signature “chee-hoo” energy to the iconic fishhook, Johnson’s presence anchors the trailer. The film also stars John Tui, Frankie Adams and Rena Owen.
