Amazon MGM Studios just unleashed the first look movie trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller ‘Verity’. From the looks of it, it’s gearing up to be another dark role for Anne Hathaway.

The flick focuses on a struggling writer, Lowen Ashleigh, who gets offered the opportunity of a lifetime. Where renowned author Verity Crawford’s husband hires her to complete his wife’s remaining books in her successful series. Since Verity is unable to finish after being in a mysterious car accident.
But when Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, she uncovers a secret manuscript that reveals unsettling details about the family’s past. Leading her to question whether Verity’s writings are fiction or a chilling confession. As she grows closer to Verity’s husband and son, Crew, she tries to determine the truth and grapples with how much of it she should share.
The all-star cast includes Hathaway (Verity Crawford), Dakota Johnson (Lowen Ashleigh), and Josh Hartnett (Jeremy).
The Michael Showalter-flick is a movie adaptation of another one of Colleen Hoover‘s bestselling novels of the same name.
This follows the ‘Ella Enchanted’ actress’s full slate of upcoming movies this year like ‘Mother Mary’, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, ‘The Odyssey’, and ‘Flowervale Street’.
‘Verity’ premieres in theaters on October 2.
