Michael Jackson fans hoping to see Kat Graham portray Diana Ross in the upcoming biopic ‘Michael’ are in for disappointment.
The actress has confirmed that her scenes as the Motown legend were cut from the final version of the film due to what she described as “certain legal considerations.”

Taking to X ahead of the movie’s April 24 release, Graham shared:
“Ahead of the April 24 release of the Michael Jackson film, I want to share that certain legal considerations affected a few scenes, including ones I filmed with an incredible cast. Unfortunately, these moments are no longer part of the final cut, though the team worked hard to preserve as much of the story as possible.”
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, ‘Michael’ stars Jaafar Jackson, the late King of Pop’s real-life nephew, in the title role.
The cast also includes Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, as well as Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, and Larenz Tate.
The update comes amid reports that the film underwent major edits over legal issues.
Ross famously shared a close relationship with Jackson throughout his life, making Graham’s omission all the more notable for fans.
‘Michael’ hits theaters this Friday.
