Tiffany Haddish's DUI Case Drags On, Prosecutors Fight Back Against Dismissal Tiffany Haddish wants her DUI case thrown out. However, Georgia prosecutors are pushing back.

Full story below…

According to TMZ, the State of Georgia is urging a judge to reject Haddish’s motion to dismiss the case stemming from her January 2022 DUI arrest in Peachtree City.

Prosecutors acknowledged the more-than-four-year delay weighs against them. Nevertheless, they insisted it was not intentional and should not carry much weight. They also argued that Haddish never actually requested an immediate trial, a distinction they say matters under Georgia law.

The filing took direct aim at Haddish’s claims that the unresolved case has damaged her career and limited her ability to travel internationally. Prosecutors wrote:

“She’s offered no evidence beyond broad assertions that she’s lost work as an entertainer or been unable to visit certain countries because of the pending charges.”

The State also argued that Haddish has not really suffered from the delay. Prosecutors noted she has not been incarcerated while the case has been pending. As for her claims of anxiety and stress, prosecutors argued those concerns are common in criminal cases and are not enough on their own to justify dismissal.

Haddish scored a partial courtroom win last month. A judge suppressed one field sobriety test and some statements tied to her arrest. Nevertheless, prosecutors are asking the judge to deny Haddish’s request to throw out the case entirely.
