The world of Orïsha takes centre stage in the action-packed official trailer for ‘Children of Blood and Bone.’

Paramount Pictures has lifted the lid on the big-screen adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling Fantasy novel, which boasts a blockbuster cast led by Thuso Mbedu, Damson Idris, Amandla Stenberg, and Tosin Cole.

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film centres on Zélie, a young woman determined to restore the magic that was violently taken from her people.

Her journey sees her join forces with her brother and the children of Orïsha’s ruling king as they mount a rebellion against his ruthless regime.

The newly released trailer offers a sweeping first look at the conflict, blending large-scale battle sequences, royal intrigue, mystical powers, and the landscapes that form Adeyemi’s richly imagined world.

Alongside its four leads, the ensemble includes Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, Idris Elba, and Viola Davis. Saniyya Sidney, Diaana Babnicova, and Bukky Bakray also feature.

Ayra Starr will make her acting debut in the movie, while Tems and Burna Boy contribute original music and hold creative roles on its soundtrack.

‘Children of Blood and Bone’ arrives in cinemas and IMAX in January 2027.
