Tyler Perry and Colin Kaepernick are lending major support to the family of Nolan Wells as his parents continue their call for answers.

According to TMZ, Perry is covering funeral expenses for the 18-year-old, while Kaepernick is paying for an independent autopsy requested by the family.
The development comes as Nolan’s parents, Christine and Elmore Wonsley, continue to demand what they describe as a thorough and transparent investigation into their son’s death.
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who is representing the family, thanked both Perry and Kaepernick during a press conference on Friday. Crump said the family requested an independent autopsy because they lack confidence in the current investigation in Mississippi.
Nolan went missing over the Fourth of July holiday weekend during a trip to Horn Island in the Mississippi Gulf Coast region. His body was later discovered floating off the island’s coastline.
Authorities have said they have found no evidence of foul play. However, the family and their legal team have pointed to alleged inconsistencies in accounts of what happened before Nolan disappeared.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Christine Wonsley made the family’s position clear:
“We just want honesty and transparency. We want a thorough investigation. We want that same respect that would be given to anybody else, and that’s it. We just want answers.”
The high-profile support from Perry and Kaepernick arrives as public attention around the case continues to grow.
Our thoughts remain with Wells’ family.
