Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington are plunged into a nightmare in Netflix’s new political thriller ‘Animals.’

The film follows Los Angeles mayoral candidate Mark Kimball (Affleck) and his wife Abigail (Washington), whose lives are thrown into chaos after they receive an ominous phone call.
Affleck co-wrote and directed the film, which also stars Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun, Adriana Paz, and Luis Gerardo Méndez.
The official synopsis reveals:
“When their son is kidnapped, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife find themselves drawn into a web of deception. As they scramble to raise the ransom payment, they’re forced to make choices that could tear their world apart.”
‘Animals’ is produced in partnership with Artists Equity, the studio founded by Affleck, Matt Damon, and Gerry Cardinale.
The thriller hits select theaters and Netflix on October 9.
