Hayden Panettiere, the actress known for standout roles in ‘Heroes,’ the ‘Scream’ franchise, and more, has tragically died.
She was just 36.
The sad news was confirmed by the star’s representative, who remembered Panettiere as an “incredible light” who brought joy both to those closest to her and audiences around the world.

According to TMZ, Panettiere died on Sunday, August 16.
Her rep said in a statement:
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that police responded to an incident involving the actress on Sunday and that an investigation is currently open. Further details surrounding her death, including a cause, have not been released.
Panettiere began acting as a child and appeared opposite Denzel Washington in 2000’s ‘Remember the Titans.’ She would go on to become a household name as Claire Bennet in ‘Heroes’ before earning acclaim as Juliette Barnes in ‘Nashville.’
Her big-screen credits included ‘Scream 4’ and ‘Scream VI,’ in which she reprised the role of Kirby Reed. She also appeared in the Viola Davis-produced ‘Custody.’
Panettiere was also mother to daughter Kaya, whom she shared with former fiancé Wladimir Klitschko. Her younger brother, actor Jansen Panettiere, died in 2023 at age 28.
