Lifetime will commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 by paying tribute to the extraordinary survival story of Genelle Guzman – an NYC transit worker who was trapped for 27 hours underneath the collapsed Tower One.
Her uncompromising tale of faith and sheer will as the last survivor pulled from the debris at Ground Zero will be reimagined for the network’s forthcoming film ‘Angel in the Rubble,’ based on Guzman’s 2014-released memoir of the same name.
The fourth project under the Robin Roberts Presents banner, ‘Angel’ will star EMMY-winning actress, comedienne, and talk show host Sherri Shepherd in the leading role with support from a cast of familiar names like Dondre Whitfield, Sean C. Michael, Frank Rautenbach, Darron Meyer, and more.
Directed by Manu Boyer, ‘Angel’ is slated to soar onto TV screens September 12 at 8/7c.
