Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton, ‘Reggae Girlz’ charts the Jamaican women’s national team’s remarkable journey onto the world stage.

The film follows the squad on the road to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where Jamaica made history while going toe-to-toe with football heavyweights including France and Brazil.
The documentary also explores the obstacles the team faced away from the pitch, including limited resources and funding. Support from the Bob and Rita Marley Foundation and Cedella Marley would prove pivotal in helping the Reggae Girlz continue their ascent.
Marley also serves as an executive producer on the film, which spotlights players including Konya Plummer, Trudi Carter, Deneisha Blackwood, and Khadija Shaw.
Further amplifying its Jamaican roots, the official soundtrack features music from Bob Marley, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Skip Marley, and Stephen Marley.
‘Reggae Girlz’ streams exclusively on Jolt from August 27. It will expand to Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube Movies, TubiTV, and Xumo on October 27.
