After swimming to critical acclaim in ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Color Purple,’ GRAMMY-nominated songstress Halle Bailey continues to build her movie resume – the latest venture being a leading role in the suspense thriller ‘The Line.’

Also starring the late Angus Cloud, Austin Abrams, Alex Wolff, Lewis Pullman, Scoot McNairy, Denise Richards, John Malkovich, and more, the film is described as “a campus thriller that plunges into the dangerous world of college fraternities and blind adherence to tradition.”

Directed by Ethan Berger, ‘Line’ is slated to march to select theaters on October 18 before expanding nationwide on October 23.

‘The Six Triple Eight’ storms onto Netflix this December.

Written and directed by Tyler Perry, the eagerly anticipated film stars Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams, the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

Inspired by the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas in WWII, the movie has long been buzzed about since its announcement. It’s based on the article by Kevin M. Hymel and centers on the overcoming of racism, sexism, and unthinkable working conditions.

Washington leads a stellar cast that includes Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston, and Oprah Winfrey.

‘The Six Triple Eight’ features an original song written by Diane Warren and performed by H.E.R.

With a limited theatrical run commencing December 6, the film arrives on Netflix on December 20.

Famed author James Patterson will see his iconic novel character “Alex Cross” brought to life like never before in Amazon Prime Video’s forthcoming ‘Cross‘ series.

Starring Aldis Hodge as the titular detective and forensic psychologist, the show – which also boasts names like Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, and Ryan Eggold in its cast – will see Alex use his expert skill to track down killers before its too late.

Already renewed for season 2 ahead of its season 1 launch, ‘Cross’ is set to premiere on the streamer via an eight-episode launch on November 14.

In Hulu’s original horror film, ‘Mr. Crocket,’ children and parents get more than they bargained from a sinister kids’ TV show host who kidnaps and murders his victims by luring them into his dark world through the television.

Set in the early 90’s, the movie follows the killer Crocket (portrayed by Elvis Nolasco) as his path of destruction leads him to one mom who refuses to back down.

Set to arrive on the streamer on November 6, the film follows the story of Layla (Milan).

Pursuing a fairytale romance with the boo of her dreams, she’s tasked with navigating a super busy New York City in a race to snag the hottest ticket in town: seats at the sold-out Pentatonix Christmas Eve Concert.

Milian stars alongside Devale Ellis and Kofi Siriboe in the Rusty Cundieff-directed flick.

The ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ returned for season 9 on Bravo last night (October 6).

However, one name that was not in the mix was Robyn Dixon

For eight years, she served as an original cast member of the hit series. However, the reality star was candid in revealing that she was “fired” following the wrapping of season 8 in April. At the time, she insisted she would rather be frank about the matter than spin it as a decision she made.

Instead of skewing bitter about her ousting, Dixon has taken a different approach.

The box office performance of ‘Joker: Folie a Deux‘ over the weekend was no joking matter – at least not to execs at Warner Bros. who were undoubtedly stunned to see how critically and commercially panned the set was.

Starring Academy Award winners Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in its leading roles of iconic DC Comics characters The Joker and Harley Quinn, hopes were high for the Todd Phillips-directed film as its predecessor – 2019’s ‘Joker’ – not only swept the succeeding awards season but also laughed its way to over $1 billion in revenue.

At present, its follow-up – despite being the #1 film in America this week – doesn’t look poised to boast the same.
