Based on Christian Keyes’ book ‘Ladies Night,’ the hour-long show (which Keyes is co-writing) revolves around the layered life of Marilyn ‘Madam’ DeVille (played by Marcille).

She’s a fierce and fiery businesswoman, who has strut her way to the top of the nightclub and male exotic dancing scene. 

Propped up by trusted loyalists, her reign looks unshakeable.

However, as the age-old adage goes, more money and more power tend to spell more problems – and such is the case for Madam.

Helmed by Tyler Perry Studios, the 10-episode series premieres this summer on BET+.

At just 16 years old, Marsai Martin continues to marvel.

Boasting a talent and drive that are undeniable, the young star has been consistently making major moves. Whether it’s in front of the camera or behind it.

It’s fitting, then, that she won twice at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards – taking home the honors for Outstanding Supporting Actress In Comedy Series and Outstanding Performance by a Youth for her role in ‘black-ish.’

For, the 12-year-old took home the prestigious honor of Outstanding Breakthrough Performance in a Motion Picture for her role in ‘Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey’ at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards.

Mills shone in the Netflix holiday film alongside the likes of Forest Whittaker and Phylicia Rashad, the latter of whom also was awarded for her efforts.

Sharon Osbourne‘s 11-year stint on ‘The Talk’ has come to an end.

The media maven had been under fire for her conduct on the March 10 edition of the daytime show – so much so that she was subject to a CBS investigation.

Osbourne fell foul of favor after a shocking eruption during a race debate with Sheryl Underwood after her support of Piers Morgan‘s widely-condemned comments about Meghan Markle.

All, it seems, has led to her exit from the show.

Lee Daniels is no stranger to giving some of history’s most noted figures their flowers.

The Academy Award-nominated director is not only responsible for the award-winning 2013 film ‘The Butler’ (loosely based on the life of Eugene Allen), but he’s also enjoying acclaim for directing the 2021 film, ‘The United States vs. Billie Holiday’ (for which its star, Andra Day, nabbed a Best Actress Academy Award nomination).

The Boondocks may have waved goodbye to Adult Swim viewers in summer 2014, but 5 years later HBO Max sent fans of the beloved comic-turned-TV show into a frenzy with news it would be rebooted in 2020.

And though production around the series was setback due to the death of legendary actor-comedian John Witherspoon (who voiced ‘Granddad’), new reports indicate the streamer has settled on an updated launch time for the satirical animation.
