Funnyman Kevin Hart is the latest name to be immortalised on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The comedian and actor received the 2591st star on the iconic strip and was watched  on during his ceremony by his children, his current wife + ex wife, actress Halle Berry, and Ice Cube.

Beyond cementing Hart’s name in the history books, the honor arrives at an apt time for the 37-year-old.

This Friday brings with it the premiere of his new comedy movie ‘Kevin Hart: What Now?,’ while 2017 will usher the release of his ‘Jumanji’ remake with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Welcome to Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature carved out to celebrate TV and Film’s glorious past.

This week, as today’s generation of stars struggle to find conversational platforms to promote themselves and their material, we return to 1997 to revisit one of Janet Jackson‘s conversations with Oprah Winfrey on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show.’

Originally set up to discuss her project ‘The Velvet Rope’, the ladies’ interview soon saw them dig deep into Jackson’s personal struggles and insecurities.

One of them being her feeling that she was undeserving of the fame her older brother Michael had generated for her with his own Pop career.

By the end, Winfrey and her audience taught the then 31-year-old entertainer a life lesson we’re sure has remained with her since.

Earlier this year the critically acclaimed ‘Birth of a Nation,’ directed by and starring Nate Parker, was easily 2016’s most highly anticipated film.

However, this – the weekend of the film’s premiere – sees a whirlwind of bad press around him stemming from 17-year old rape allegations in conjunction with an actual whirlwind (see: Hurricane Matthew) keep moviegoers home from supporting the historical drama that tells the story of slave Nat Turner and his heroic revolt against the oppressive system.

Parker may have left the legal courts unscathed from the drama in his personal life, but it appears professionally he’s been guilty in the court of public opinion:
