Her father, Muhammad Ali, may have been celebrated for his tireless activism efforts against racial inequality, but Laila Ali prefers to take the silent approach – or at least that’s what was implied during her recent sit down with ‘Huffington Post’ Live.

On the promotional train to increase awareness about her forthcoming stint on the Arnold Schwarzenegger-hosted ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ (January 2017), the boxing champ was hit with questions about footballer Colin Kaepernick and her thoughts on the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.

“Yes, black lives matter. Yes, white lives matter, asian lives matter. All lives matter,” she said. “And that’s kind of what my focus is. But it’s hard because, you know, you’ve got sponsors and you’ve got this and you’ve got that. And you don’t want to step on anybody’s toes. And you’re trying to be politically correct, but at the same time trying to uplift your people.” – Ali, 2016

Jesse Williams has urged his fans to cast their vote in the 2016 Presidential Election after learning that a number of them planned to stay home on voting day.

This is not about the White House. This is about your house. If you’re not registered to vote, you can’t sit on a jury. You can’t choose your mayor. You can’t choose your city council. You can’t even choose your district attorney. You can’t decide which measures will help your family and community, and which will put them at risk.

As thespians go, few come as seasoned or respected as Denzel Washington and Viola Davis.

This Holiday, the powerful pair team up for ‘Fences’ – a flick many industry commentators have already tipped for Oscar success.

The film – a re-telling of the Tony winning play – is set in the 1950s and shares the story of a once-promising baseball player (Washington) who now drives a trash truck and must deal with raising his family.

Thematically, the movie strikes a number of emotional chords; a point its titillating points to in earnest.
