As the age old adage goes, the show must go on and for FOX talker ‘The Real’ that’s exactly what’s happening.

Yesterday brought with it news Tamar Braxton had “mutually agreed” to part ways with the series on which she’d served as an anchor panelist since its 2013 launch.

Word on the curb is that she was fired, but at this junction it’s almost inconsequential. She won’t be back.

Given that the show remains a top priority for its network, it got us wondering: who could be a suitable replacement?

Say what folk will about Tamar, but it’s undeniable that she brought a certain spark that – whether loved or loathed – provoked a reaction.

Here are five names we feel could do the same with their own unique twist…

Earlier today, news hit the wire that the outspoken singer and media personality had been let go from her panelist position on the daytime talker – a role she’s occupied since the show’s 2014 debut.

After years of diluted diversity, network television is beginning to embrace talent of all hues in a major way.

Following a slew of primetime pick-ups for the 2016/2017 TV season, FOX have unveiled their latest title ‘Shots Fired’ – starring Sanaa Lathan.

The “event series” centres on the aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small Southern town.

Putting a fresh twist on the race/gun violence debate, ‘Fired’ sees an African-American police officer kill an unarmed white college student, causing social chaos. Before the town has a chance to grapple with this tragedy, the neglected murder of an African-American teen is brought to light, re-opening wounds that threaten to tear the town apart.

HISTORY’s ‘Roots’ reboot received a Presidential endorsement yesterday when it was screened at the White House.

Fronted by Anika Noni Rose, the miniseries stars the rapper T.I., Anna Pacquin, Laurence Fishburne, Mekhi Phifer and the British actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, all of whom signed up to tell the true story after it was first told in 1978.
