A highly touted tribute to Whitney Houston, P!nk/Kelly Clarkson duet, and Diana Ross lifetime achievement honors were undoubtedly among the draws that lured viewers into this year’s American Music Awards.

Hosted by ‘Black-ish’ star Tracee Ellis Ross, the showing – which also featured stage-blazing performances from chart-toppers Shawn Mendes, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and more – saw a notable improvement in ratings compared to last year’s abysmal 8.18 million (the lowest in its nearly 45 year history).

‘America’s Next Top Model’ is back and is bringing with it a familiar face – Tyra Banks. 

The show’s creator, host, and head-judge sat out its inaugural season on VH1 last year – instead passing the torch onto Rita Ora. 

However, as part of a more measured return to the TV sphere, she’s reclaiming her ANTM throne for its 24th cycle. She will be joined by last season’s returning judges Ashley Graham, Paper creative director Drew Elliot, and celebrity stylist Law Roach. 

And ahead of its premiere in early 2018, a fierce new teaser clip has been released starring Banks.

The 2017 AMAs brought with it a number of memorable moments, including the unveiling of the first full-length trailer for Ava DuVernay‘s ‘A Wrinkle In Time.’

A re-telling of the Sci-Fi fantasy by novelist by Madeleine L’Engle in 1963, the story centers on a young girl (played by Storm Reid) whose father, a government scientist, goes missing after working on a mysterious project.

She is guided by three celestial beings (played by Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling) to find him.

Russell Simmons has vehemently denied claims that he and the creative Brett Ratner molested a teenage girl in 1991.

I completely and unequivocally deny the horrendous allegations of non-consensual sex against me with every fiber of my being.

However, his strong denial has been met with condemnation and confusion from the actor Terry Crews who- after vowing to support victims of sexual abuse following his own experience at a Hollywood party- has claimed Simmons worked hard to stop him from coming forward with his story.
