In 1996 ABC unlocked the TV series ‘Clueless‘ following the success of the movie of the same name and a year later, with its sights set black audiences home and away, UPN built ‘Moesha’ which starred the singer Brandy.
It wasn’t long, as both shows rocked their respective networks’ worlds with superb ratings, before fans cried out for a crossover episode but saw their hopes dashed when it became clear that the rivalry between said networks meant it was impossible.
Then, the impossible happened.
Much to UPN’s delight, structural changes at ABC saw it forced to abandon ‘Clueless’ clearing the way for it to swoop down and rescue the series from cancellation. What this meant?
The ditzy Cher and the sassy Moesha were now sisters.
Two years would pass before the network answered their fans’ prayers by unlocking a crossover episode in 1999 and today, in honour of the epic TV moment, we celebrate it by making it the subject of this week’s edition of ‘Retro Rewind.’
When news of ‘The Real Sidechicks Of Charlotte’ hit social media, many – including Rihanna – wondered whether it was a spoof.
Well, as it turns out, ratchet has reached an all new low. Because the show is very real.
Today, all seven members of the cast stopped by The Breakfast Club to dish on the concept of the series – as did its creator.
In trademark fashion, the hosts held nothing back and roasted the ladies like a Thanksgiving turkey. Charlamagne and guest Lil Duval poked especially hard.
The star-maker that is Tyra Banks was all smiles when she joined Seth Meyers for a fun-filled conversation on his late-night show hours ago.
Why she was there? To give fans an update on her life as she soars on ‘America’s Got Talent‘ as a host, readies the next season of ‘America’s Next Top Model’ and raises a child with her partner and creative collaborator Erik Asla.
As a solo act and as a member of the chart-topping musical group Danity Kane, Dawn Richard has already proven herself quite the talent on the dancing, singing, and songwriting fronts. Now, the much-lauded songstress is looking to see some of that critical acclaim aimed at her theatrical endeavors.
After years of smaller roles a-front a few television and movie ventures, Richard’s been cast as the lead in Jean Claude LaMarre‘s erotic-romance thriller, ‘Kinky.’ The film, reminiscent of ’50 Shades of Grey,’ will see her share top billing with Robert Ri’Chard and also features a supporting cast of acting vets Vivica A. Fox, Darrin Henson, and more.
Since we haven’t seen the “I was hacked” tweet yet from Safaree Samuels official Twitter account, it’s safe to say it was indeed he who lent a heartfelt message to Grammy-nominated rapstress Nicki Minaj, his ex of 12 years. Taking to the platform to express his baby fever, the rapper/producer stated:
The message set Twitter alight and incited a polarizing argument amongst his and her followers. While some rooted for the duo to rekindle their longtime romance, others weren’t exactly supportive.
Branden Miller, the brains behind the crass and cantankerous comedy gem Joanne the Scammer, has revealed that he has found a friend in Netflix.
During a recent interview the actor revealed that after watching the character blossom online for over decade (he got his start as one of YouTube‘s first influencers) he has now caught the support of the streaming platform.
Miller told Janet Mock on the podcast that “someone from Netflix” was currently writing the show. The show’s exact format is still somewhat hazy, with Miller admitting, “I can’t even speak that far ahead because I don’t even know.”
Miller added: “If you know Joanne on Instagram, there are little snippets of her life” in which Joanne appears “right in the middle of a scam. So I’m capturing that. Instagram gives you one minute of that, the show will give you the whole storyline.”
If true, his union with the platform would see Joanne’s tale stand alongside the projects ‘Black Mirror‘, ‘Orange is the New Black‘ , ‘13th‘, ‘House of Cards‘ and ‘Luke Cage’ which all have soared since being introduced to the critical mass as exclusives.

‘Queen Sugar’ has been enjoying sweet success on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network, so much so that the critically acclaimed drama has just been picked up for a third season.
The news was revealed as part of announcement about Winfrey’s broader deal with its creator Ava DuVernay.
The 40-year-old ‘Moesha’ star Shar Jackson has been ordered to stay at least 50 yards away from her grandchild.
Why?
Shar‘s daughter has a child with the 27-year-old ‘Zoey 101′ star Chris Massey who dropped the infant to Shar’s residence back in May so that she could spend time with the actress and her family for a few weeks.
Chris now says that this is a decision he’ll always regret.
For, when he picked her up, he noticed a 4-inch razor cut across her forehead and was horrified when she revealed that Shar had given it to her!
When Chris confronted her about the assault the entertainer is said to have told him that she intended to do “whatever she wants” and this prompted the actor to seek support and protection for his child from the courts.
A judge granted Chris’ request, ordering Shar stay at least 50 yards away from the kid. Shar’s rep tells us, “Shar categorically denies all of this nonsense, as it it completely fabricated and from the mouth of a very troubled individual. Period.”
Shar’s fans will know that this wouldn’t be her first ride on controversy’s spinning wheel.
Back in 2004, she discovered that her lover Kevin Federline had been “dirty dancing” with fellow 90s teen queen Britney Spears.
The iconic boxer Mike Tyson has opened up on being sexually assaulted as a child in a new interview with ESPN E60.
Interviewed by his old friend Jeremy Schapp, Tyson revealed that he had been attacked by a man who snatched him off the street and forced him into a building when he was only seven-years-old.
Well I don’t like to talk about that, I like to keep that where it was in the past, but I was molested as a child.
He added:
It made me have to be tough for the world I lived in.
Keen to inspire those who have harmed in the same way, Tyson revealed that he didn’t step forward to tell anyone for years because he was ashamed. Now, he says he has come to terms with what happened to him and has learned that his attacker’s disgusting act doesn’t make him (Tyson) any less of a man…or person.
I learned that it doesn’t make you any less of a man because it happened.
