Sadly another couple have called time on their union. This time it’s La La and Carmelo Anthony.

The news of their split came courtesy of TMZ, who reported:

Sources close to the couple tell us the actress and NBA superstar are now living separately. La La moved out of the family home last week and has her own place in NYC now.

We’re told the couple’s had ups and downs in the past, but the current NBA season has been extremely stressful on the marriage for several months. Carmelo’s been plagued by trade talks … with the Knicks looking to move him to another team (and city).

Word is the climate between the seemingly rock-solid couple is amicable and divorce has not been filed yet.

They recently reunited for basketball game for their 10-year-old son Kiyan and have no plans to move him from his New York based school.

On all fronts, the ‘Basketball Wives‘ empire sits a few notches beneath Bravo’s ‘Real Housewives‘ franchise.

So, with hopes of securing more eyes and higher approval ratings, its producers have placed key players from its cancelled Miami show in its Los Angeles mix.

One of these players is Tami Roman, who stepped into support ‘Basketball Wives LA‘ following the departure of its star Draya Michele.

How Roman feels about all of this?

Watch her discussion with ‘The Breakfast Club‘ to find out!

The reworked ‘Wives’ will return to VH1 on April 17th armed with fan favourites Malaysia Pargo and Brandi Maxiell as well as Roman, Jackie Christie, Evelyn Lozada, Shaunie O’Neal and Keonna Green.

The actor/singer Tyrese has apologised to the world after it slammed his latest verbal assault on women.

Often criticised for overlooking problems created by men when sharing his thoughts on relationships, the gifted star took to social media hours ago to ask for forgiveness when his latest remarks threatened to derail his brand and promotion for his new ‘Fast & Furious‘ movie venture.

Because I’m gonna tell you all right now, and this might be harsh. Sluts, skeezers, hoes, tramps and overly aggressive promiscuous women, they are never without a man because they don’t have no standards. They ready to have sex with any and everything that want to have sex with them. But when you are single, and you actually love yourself, you know your value and your self worth you hold out until God sends you whats yours.

So sometimes they be talking mess to women that are single but I have a respect for them because if you’re single and you might say, “I’ve been single for a couple years,” what ever the case may be, you actually holding out because you have your value. You have women that are active out in these streets, they going to lunches and dinners every night. Private planes, mega yachts, it’s cracking. They’re never without. However, it comes with a cost, you gonna put a lot of miles on yourself down there, come on.

How he feels about it all now?

For the record, I’m far from a misogynist, a male chauvinist, or flat out mean. My intentions were there, but my delivery f—ing horrible. And clearly all the way off. And for that I sincerely apologize to all of the ladies. Please accept this as my sincere apology for my poor choice of words — s— gets real when it goes from a social media dragging to my own wife giving me the side eye and coming at me. Even she’s not happy with the way I’ve conducted myself. I apologize as a man first for the things that I’ve recently said about choices women have the right to make, for the terms that I’ve used, and the way I’ve come across. I was raised to think and feel certain ways, and I’m learning new things that combat those messages,” he added. “I am not perfect or all-knowing, nor am I the one to claim to be. I’ve learned things through experience which I share, and through these last couple of weeks, I’ve learned a lot through this well-deserved internet dragging. This is about a man owning up to his actions, taking responsibility, recognizing how to do better, and actually doing better. Ladies you deserve better.

My mother taught me better than this….. lesson learned in life you will learn that It’s not always “what” you say, it’s the “how” we choose to say it. For the record I’m far from a misogynist, a male chauvinist or flat out mean….. My intentions were there but my delivery fucking horrible…. And clearly all the way off…. And for that I sincerely apologize to all of the ladies… Even after this apology…. Some may likely decide to NOT forgive me…. Time and consistency heals all wounds…. Although I’ve been consistently for years speaking on these topics and some of the same words in my message, I have never experienced what I am experiencing right now. – I’ve been getting dragged and feel the heat from my poor choice of words and approach to my messages, trust me….. Please accept this as my sincere apology for my poor choice of words – Shit gets real when it goes from a social media dragging to my own wife giving me the side eye and coming at me, even she’s not happy with the way I’ve conducted myself…. it’s crazy how non-public figures can say and do some really dumb shit and it will stay amongst your family and friends or local in your hood…. When you have been an entertainer for 15+ years the whole WORLD is literally watching you grow up & learn, bump your head, make mistakes and evolve as the world watches…. This is a real lesson learned… This is not just a regular IG post for me. I want to truly say that I’m sorry, I’m not APOLOGIZING in an effort to be politically correct, I apologize as a man first for the things that I’ve recently said about choices women have the right to make, for the terms that I’ve used and the way I’ve come across. I was raised to think and feel certain ways, and I’m learning new things that combat those messages. I am not perfect or all knowing, nor am I the one to claim to be. I’ve learned things through experience which I share, and through these last couple of weeks, I’ve learned a lot through this well deserved internet dragging…… This is about a man owning up to his actions, taking responsibility, recognizing how to do better, and actually doing better. Ladies you deserve better…

Welcome to Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature carved out to honour artists who used their lives to enrich the lives of others.

Today, as the world of professional football punishes Colin Kaepernick for taking a stand against systemic racism against the African-American community, we revisit the moment in time which saw Eartha Kitt penalised for doing the same.

After discovering the ways in which the U.S. government was using legislation to stifle the African-American experience, Kitt found herself unable to turn a blind eye when the same government asked the same African-Americans to risk their lives by fighting its wars.

What happened when she raised her concerns during a visit to the White House?

Last year’s saw millions locked in to OWN‘s newest drama ‘Queen Sugar.’ And with good reason. It slays.

The Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay production proved a gripping watch with its weekly depiction of tale of three very different siblings trying to honor their father’s legacy and resurrect his rural Louisiana farm.

Upon its debut last September, it became the second best premiere ever for the 6 year old network. It’s little wonder, then, why it’s being brought back a little earlier for its 2017 run.

Today OWN announced a two-night premiere for its sophomore season – June 20th and June 21st. The 16-episode order, which is currently in production in New Orleans, will be air in two halves: the first this Summer and the second in the Fall.

‘Queen Sugar’ is anchored by Kofi Siriboe, Rutina Wesley and Dawn-Lyen Gardner (pictured above). Bianca Lawson also stars.

That debut season was everything. Hopefully, its second is just as sweet.
