It may be cold now, but the cast of ‘Baywatch‘ are set to heat things all the way up in 2017.

Led by box office titan Dwayne Johnson, the revival of the TV classic will swim on to the big screen in May of next year.

Borrowing from the original, the reimagined flick follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.

BET is to reintroduce the world to Nelson Mandela‘s story via a miniseries starring Laurence Fishburne.

Set to air between February 8th and February 15th, the project is named ‘Madiba’ and will stand as one of many programs built to support the platform’s ‘Black History Month’-centred schedule.

This miniseries is not to be confused with Jennifer Hudson’s Mandela project ‘Winnie’ which impacted the U.S. on September 6th 2013.

The cat-walk may have been blessed with its fair share of angels, but not even they could perform the miracle of saving the ratings for this year’s ‘Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.’

This year’s showing, which featured show-stopping performances from Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, and The Weeknd, not only saw its viewership not meet expectations, but it fell lower than last year’s (which was the franchise’s previous lowest sum).

It appears the mixture of Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Vanessa Williams, and Patti Labelle proved potent for VH1 as newly surfaced reports indicate the holiday rendition of their once-shelved ‘Divas’ series scored major ratings.

Also featuring the likes of Teyana Taylor, JoJo, and more, the showing – which was taped at New Yorks’ King’s Theater and aired December 5th – gave the network its highest ratings for the franchise in over a decade.

Welcome to another edition of Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature launched to celebrate TV and Film’s glorious past.

Today, we revisit Madonna‘s seminal ‘Truth or Dare‘, the documentary she shot while on her ‘Blonde Ambition Tour’ in 1991.

In it, the ‘Bad Girl’ offered fans access to her life on the road, her friendships with members of her team and, more importantly, the truth behind their painful childhoods and how it shaped them as they delivered the show to fans all over the world.

Its moving nature saw the project generate $29,012,935 and go on to inspire Lady GaGa’s ‘Lady GaGa Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden’ in 2011.

That isn’t all.

The movie also features appearances from Lionel Ritchie, Warren Beatty, Antonio Banderas, the “neat” Kevin Costner and…(drumroll) an unforgettable Janet Jackson dig.

Unfortunately, it also showcases some of the crueller parts of the icon’s personality.
