The nominations have formally been announced for the 2015 Emmy Awards.

Billed as the biggest ceremony honoring shows on the small screen, this year’s list brings with it noms for music drama ‘Empire’ and Shonda Rhimes’ latest sensation ‘How To Get Away With Murder.’

The Lyon family are set to roar back onto the small screen on September 23rd when ‘Empire’ season 2 debuts.

Anticipation is already at fever pitch for the return of the FOX smash, which was created by Lee Daniel and is anchored by Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.

To whip the already sky-high hype into overdrive, the network have unwrapped the first promotional snap for the music drama’s sophomore run.

We love it and hope we are just as enamoured by what’s in store for the series’ second outing.

As reported, Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, and Chris Rock are just a few of the new names set feature.

As the music industry continues its shape-shift into full-on 360 territory, artists are tasked with finding new ways to intensify their spotlight.

Kelly Rowland appears to have clocked game, because beyond cooking up a new “uptempo” album, the 34-year-old is also broadening her TV portfolio.

Fresh from being confirmed for a stint on FOX  hit ‘Empire,’ the songstress has also been snapped up by BET to front her own talent search, aptly titled ‘Chasing Destiny.’

Prior to now, little has been known about the show’s specifics beyond the fact that Rowland would be piecing together a girl-group.

However, during a recent sit-down at the 2015 Essence Music Festival, Ms. Kelly spilled all on ‘Destiny’s’ exciting concept.

Per the video below, she revealed to host Adrienne Bailon that filming is already underway and that she’s teamed with Frank Gatson – one of the major creative forces behind Destiny’s Child and the solo careers of its members.

On July 22nd MTV will release a groundbreaking documentary set to shed light on what it means to be a “white person” living in today’s society.

Its name? ‘White People.’ 

The project was conceived by Pulitizer Prize-winner Jose Antonio Vargas and will tackle the issues surrounding prejudice, white privilege and institutional racism with the help of young people who hold views set to surprise some while offending other.
