Lined with a star-studded cast of some of Black Hollywood’s most familiar faces, BET+’s forthcoming drama – ‘The Black Hamptons’ – promises to be one of the streamer’s steamiest offerings yet.

Coming from ‘The New York Times’ best-selling author Carl Weber‘s work of the same name, ‘Hamptons’ is a family drama based in the quaint and charming town of Sag Harbor (affectionately known as “The Black Hamptons”) in Long Island, NY.

With a cast that includes Lamman Rucker, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Elise Neal,  Brian White, Karon Riley, Mike Merrill, Blac Chyna, Aaron Spears, and more, the story’s plot will follow the feud between the ‘Brittons’ and the ‘Johnsons’ – a feud of ‘old money’ versus ‘new money.’

Will Smith has broken his long silence following the debacle that was the Oscars slap seen around the world.

As extensively covered here on That Grape Juice, the Hollywood titan dramatically slapped comedian Chris Rock after the latter made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett‘s baldness which she’s been open about being caused by the health condition alopecia.

The media circus around Smith and the fallout that followed was immense. Indeed, while the star was permitted to keep his Best Actor Award (which he won on the ill-fated night), he stepped down from the Oscars academy. A move many deemed preemptive given that members were meeting to decide his punishment. Smith was also banned from attending the ceremony for a period of 10 years.

Now, after a period of further reflecting, he is speaking up and out.

Now, the legend’s story will be shared anew by way of the incoming Netflix biopic, ‘Blonde.’

Promising a raw and unvarnished look into the layered life of the late screen star, the Andrew Dominik-directed flick is based on Joyce Carol Oates’s book ‘Blonde.’

Ana de Armas stars as  Monroe in the hotly anticipated film which also features Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, and Julianne Nicholson.

Nearly eight months after fans of HBO Max’s ‘Sweet Life: Los Angeles’ learned it would be renewed for a second season, a first glimpse of the Issa Rae-executive produced show has made its way to the ent.

Set to land on screens August 4 with four new episodes, the 10-episode season will roll out three new episodes every week on the streamer until its season finale on August 18.

Following a group of friends who “give a unique look at what it means to be young, Black, ambitious, and in constant pursuit of one’s dreams,” ‘Sweet Life: Los Angeles’ chronicles the rollercoaster of their individual and collective lives as they explore life through the chaos of being African American, 20-something-years-old, and trying to make it in Cali.

And that’s exactly what Netflix will be serving up with its latest comedy courtesy of Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg.

The movie, which also stars Regina Hall, follows a stay-at-home dad.

Gifted with “me time” for the first time in a long time (while his wife and kids are away), he reconnects with his former best friend for a wild weekend that almost uproots his life at large.

Directed and written by John Hamburg, the film arrives on the streamer on August 26.
