Pharrell Williams has re-teamed with Jay-Z for new collaboration, ‘Entrepreneur.’
In a unique move, the song arrives as part of the TIME cover package, ‘The New American Revolution.’
Featuring conversations with Tyler the Creator and Angela Davis among others, each segment sees contributors discuss the systematic inequalities Black people have faced throughout the history of the United States.
‘Entrepreneur’ echoes these sentiments lyrically. Something Williams asserts is purposeful. He says of the track:
“The intention for a song was all about how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country to begin with. Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages. How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire, when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education, and representation?”

With her 2-disc album, ‘The Rarities,’ set for an October 2 release, look to see much of Mariah Carey on the promo trail in the coming weeks in its support.
Comprised of a collection of her favorite previously unreleased recordings, the project – which will house tunes from 1990-2020 – will invite fans to explore the diva’s archives of never-before-heard music (some of which has personal relevance that will be further explored in her forthcoming memoir, ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’).
One such track is the highly anticipated ‘Save The Day,’ which samples the iconic 1996 Fugees hit ‘Killing Me Softly.’
With her longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri credited as producer, look inside to hear the “new” song.
Mulatto is the female newcomer on everybody’s lips.
The RCA Records darling first made headlines for winning Lifetime’s reality music competition, ‘The Rap Game,’ before bumping from speakers with her breakthrough single, ‘B*tch from Da Souf’ (which was later remixed with Saweetie and Trina).
Earlier this month, she not only learned the song had become her first Hot 100 charting single but it was also certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Now, she’s ready for her growing legion of fans to hear the content that accompanies the tune on her debut album, ‘Queen of Da Souf’ – a 13-track affair featuring the likes of Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, and more.
After delivering a series of EPs and mixtapes, the self-proclaimed queen’s royal inauguration – her official introductory effort – awaits inside:
Last Friday (August 14), GRAMMY-nominated rapstress Iggy Azalea sprung a surprise on fans when she announced her new single – ‘DLNW’ – would not only feature Urban Pop stageblazer Tinashe, but would also hit shelves on August 21 (as we reported here).
A reunion of sorts for the duo as Azalea first guested on the singer’s 2015 hit, ‘All Hands on Deck,’ the new song makes its arrival just as the Aussie’s producer – J. White Did It – began teasing that he was putting the finishing touches on her yet-titled third album.
Now, fans curious to what content from the set would sound like are about to have that curiosity answered.
