Following the double platinum success of his breakout song ‘Falling’ will come as no easy task for rising singer-songwriter Trevor Daniel, but his Selena Gomez-assisted new single – ‘Past Life’ – shines as a valiant effort.

Produced by FINNEAS, the June 26-released tune has already navigated to a #77 peak on the main singles chart thanks to warm reception from Pop radio.

Now, in an attempt to hoist it to higher Hot 100 heights, the Pop duo tap Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia to direct its unique music video that sees its stars transcend real and animated worlds.

6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Trollz’ continues to pencil itself in Hot 100 history books.

Beyond becoming the chart’s first co-ed Rap duet to debut at the top, the Sadpony-produced bop was also the year’s highest first-week seller among singles (click here to read more) upon its premiere. In the following week, ‘Trollz’ entered record books for the largest fall for a #1 debut when it plummeted out of the top 30 – a downward trajectory that’s shown no signs of stalling as the song’s dropped over 25 rungs each week since its chart entry.

The most refreshed edition of the hit-list logs the tune at #83 in its 4th week and signals a worrying trend that could see it slip out of the Hot 100 all together by next week.

Until we find out for sure, look below to see who occupies the chart’s top spots on the recharged ‘TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100.’

Debuting at age 13, JoJo (real name Joanna Levesque) took the world by storm with her crazy soprano pipes and an understated maturity that existed in her vocal delivery. The two, along with some insanely catchy lyrics, helped propel her debut single, ‘Leave (Get Out)’ to No. 1 at Pop radio in 2004. Sure, as a teen she was marketed to pop audiences; however, there has always been an innate soulfulness that has resided within her.

Billboard have announced a huge overhaul of their rules in direct response to the popularized practice of bundling albums and singles with merchandise and concert tickets.

Initially permitted as a means of recognizing the change in how the public consume music, the rules have been bent in earnest by several artists looking to maintain commercial viability. Often to extremes that have been critiqued en masse.

And Billboard has had enough.

Today, the industry bible has published updates to their rulebook designed to “more accurately reflect consumer choice” and to “level the playing field for all artists.”

Billboard done so to counter what it effectively says has been exploitative efforts used to benefit sales – given that traditional units still carry more chart weight than industry-leading streaming formats.
