Kehlani fans apparently couldn’t wait to get their hands on her new music.
Three years after landing at #3 on the Billboard 200 with her Gold-certified debut album, ‘SweetSexySavage,’ the GRAMMY-nominated songstress unleashed her sophomore studio effort – ‘It Was Good Until It Wasn’t’ – Friday (May 8).
Unseating Drake‘s ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ as iTunes champion less than an hour after its unveiling, the victory comes as a first for Kehlani – a feat she took to Twitter to note.

As flavoursome waves go, few are riding higher than Nigerian trio DRB.
The ensemble – made up of members Boj, Fresh L and Teezee – have been drumming up buzz on a global scale thanks to their magnetic sound.
Anchored in Afrobeats, the group is unique in that its stars have made major moves both collectively and independently – always being sure to return to their home-base.
From Toj’s Best Song nomination at The Headies (Naija’s answer to the GRAMMYs) to Teezee’s status as co-founder of the country’s Native Mag, the rising stars are taking a multi-disciplined approach to amplifying their presence – both home and away.
The key driver of their increasing resonance, however, is of course their music.
Having collaborated with the likes of Davido and Skepta across a string of group and solo offerings, they showcase the length and breadth of their eclectic appeal on newly unleashed project ‘Pioneers.’
Aptly titled, the 12-song set fuses Afrobeats, Hip-Hop and a collage of world sounds in a colorful fashion that is already earning the ensemble legions of new fans.
With a keen eye for detail, the group enlisted noted Nigerian artist Anedu Edozien to helm the artwork for the release. Christened ‘Midnight Friends,’ the piece showcases the community, culture, creativity, style, and rebellious nature of DRB’s hometown of Lagos.

After years of sharing screen time on stage, Pop titans Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande have finally dropped their first recorded duet, ‘Stuck With U.’
Released with little warning (as we first reported here), the duo – both managed by Hollywood powerhouse Scooter Braun – teamed to benefit the First Responders Children’s Foundation, an organization that provides grants and scholarships for children of first responders on the front lines battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking to Instagram ahead of its arrival (May 7), Grande spoke proudly of the Blues-inspired tune:
“i can’t fully articulate ……… howwwww happy i am that we waited this long to do this (the duet thing),” she said. “this moment really means so much more than it ever could have if it had happened any other way or if it had been any other song. being able to lend our voices to this project and collaborating on this has been so fulfilling and i really just love this song so much.”
