2017’s ‘Best Part’ may be the best-selling single of H.E.R.‘s career to date, but the enduring success of her subsequent singles are poised to give the Daniel Caesar-assisted cut a run for its money.

Just 8 months after the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced the tune had crossed its threshold for triple Platinum status – meaning it’s sold 3 million copies in the United States – the organization has updated its logs to reveal ‘Part’ has pushed through to the next certification level.

What’s more, it’s not the only prized entry from H.E.R.’s discography to earn a new accolade over the last week.

Through the years, the US has turned its national anthem into a Pop culture landmark which houses the power of making or breaking careers — depending on how well it’s sung.

As the world continues its rapturous applause of Lady Gaga’s stunning rendition at this week’s Inauguration Day, From The Vault journeys back to the year 2006, when Destiny’s Child put their very own unique spin on ‘The Star Spangled Banner’.

After shocking the industry a few months prior when they announced their disbandment, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams reunited for a farewell performance of the anthem at the 2006 NBA All-Star Game.

Dressed in glamorous cocktail dresses, DC3 put their 3-part harmonies on full display but made sure to give member ample moments to shine individually.

Watching this video in 2021 is both comforting and frustrating. Indeed, everything about this performance screams perfection. And yet the reality is that there arguably isn’t an act capable of such precision in this day and age. Besides, ironically, Beyoncé.

[Also, seeing the dearly-departed Kobe Bryant present on the court-side is bittersweet, especially on the eve of the one year anniversary of his passing.]

We won’t lose hope of one day seeing the girls reunite for a substantial project. A Netflix concert special, an EP, a tour – whenever it’s safe to go back on the road. Something. We feel the time is more than ripe for Destiny’s Child to bless us with their greatness and show the new generation a thing or two about how it’s supposed to be done.
