From the outside looking in, the above seems to be the sentiment held by rapper Big Sean this year, after cutting a few ties with Kanye West‘s ‘ ‘GOOD Music’ and heading over to ‘Roc Nation‘ and saying bye bye to fiancee Naya Rivera to start a relationship with Pop princess Ariana Grande.

Thought that was it?Of course not, as the release of four brand new songs from the lyricist lead the way for a brand new album, promoted during his recent visit to ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest.‘

Rihanna may sing like a cat in labor, but there’s no denying that she knows a hitmaker when she needs one.

Case in point Ester Dean.

The songwriter, whose credits include ‘Super Bass’ and Ms. Fenty’s own ‘What’s My Name’, shared a shot of herself in the studio with the the 26-year-old star today.

Given the lengthy delay RiRi’s eighth album has experienced, the pic should provide some comfort to the model’s fans who’ve been starved of her McMusic since 2012. Indeed, RiRi has skilfully been dodging proverbial bullets from artists far bigger than her for almost two years. And with the current quarter boasting major releases from the likes of Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Lil Wayne, and Taylor Swift, we can’t see how there’d be any logic in releasing this year.

Still, it’s a smart move assembling the right creatives such as Dean if she’s trying to put her best foot forward. We just hope she’s at least trying to put her best vocals forward too.

September 30th 2014 marks the spot for Elijah Blake‘s forthcoming EP ‘Drift’, the follow-up to the streaming magnet that was 2012’s ‘Bijoux 22.’

Today, as to whet the appetites of his supporters, the singer has welcomed the release of its buzz bop ‘Strange Fruit‘, a Hip Hop effort dripping in sensuality and armed with slave ritual inspired harmonies far too haunting for even the staunchest of Urban music naysayers to ignore.

With new album ‘Cheek To Cheek’ battling it out for the top spot, Lady GaGa and Tony Bennett have unwrapped a new live performance from the joint-project to give the set a boost.

GaGa’s take on Jazz classic ‘Bang Bang’ has been “the” talking point of the LP amongst critics and for good reason too. One watch of the star’s rousing rendition of the Cher cut (filmed at the Lincoln Center) provides an emphatic answer for those wondering why.

Bittersweet.

Perhaps that’s what Danity Kane should have christened their third (and presumably final) album.

The set, which was confirmed yesterday to be titled ‘DK3’, is due for release on October 28th – three months after the band imploded amidst ample drama.

And while fans are still licking the wounds of the group’s second split, the LP’s release is clearly being received as the best consolation.

For, just hours after going up for pre-order the ‘Lemonade’ led set has rocketed into the iTunes top 20.

Didn’t they almost have it all?

While fans of Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose are still reeling from news of their divorce proceedings, elsewhere on the music spectrum one of pop’s cutest couples – Jason Derulo & Jordin Sparks – are reportedly no longer seeing sparks in their once hot romance as multiple sources have indicated that the singers are splitsville.

Despite just appearing together at last month’s MTV Video Music Awards, the rumor mill was running over with word that the duo were done.  Initially avoiding the topic all together, it appears the ‘Marry Me’ maestro has added fuel to the fire by indirectly confirming that Jordin won’t be becoming Mrs. Desrouleaux any time soon.

After dominating the chars for much of the year, Ariana Grande has been gifted the honor of serving as the first musical guest on the upcoming season premiere of Saturday Night Live.

The pint-sized-powerhouse will be performing and co-hosting with actor Chris Pratt – who she stars in a comical new promo with.

Jennifer Hudson‘s third album ‘JHUD’ landed in stores this week and the singer is working hard on the promotional trail in support of the set.

After making an impressive stop on The Breakfast Club yesterday, the ‘Dreamgirls’ star paid a visit to The Wendy Williams Show this afternoon to talk music, motherhood, and, of course, hot topics.

Watching this brought a warm smile to our face. For, Jennifer has a great personality. Yet, this very fact jars somewhat; because, had she hit the interview circuit earlier and shone in this way, perhaps the all-important first-week predictions would be saying more than they are.

Like, in retrospect, (from where we’re standing) it would have benefited the project far more had she embarked on a press tour and shown more of “this” than the countless stage performances for an audience that are still getting to know who she is and what she’s about.

Rising R&B belle Tinashe is readying her debut album ‘Aquarius’ for release on October 7th.

The LP, which is being tipped as an project to watch, has thus far served up Summer scorcher ‘2 On’ and hopes to repeat said song’s success with follow-up ‘Pretend’.

With the video for the A$AP Rocky assisted number due imminently, the singer gives fans a taste of what to expect with a behind the scenes look at its creation.
