Famed for her candy colored wigs, Nicki Minaj‘s hair has touched all shades of the rainbow since the femcee blazed onto the music scene.

However, as she readies a return to a grittier, more “Old Skool Nicki” sound, the Young Money maven’s look  appears to be following suit.

Taking to Instagram moments ago, the rapper shared shots of herself showcasing what sits under her wigs on the set of a new photoshoot.

2013 saw Fantasia serve up blazing collaborations with Destiny’s Child stars Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. As many will recall, Rowland was tapped to feature on the singer’s Urban smash ‘Without Me’, while Williams joined forces with the American Idol alum for a remix to recent Gospel single ‘If We Had Your Eyes’.

Continuing their show of sisterhood, Ms. Kelly and Michelle paid a visit to the ‘Lose To Win’ singer backstage at ‘After Midnight’ – the hit Broadway show she’s currently starring in.

Nine years.

It’s astounding to think that almost a decade has passed since Missy Elliott last blessed the charts with a new album.

The hit-making rapper has maintained a low profile, choosing in recent years to primarily produce for others. And while 2012 brought with it new material in the form of new songs ‘Triple Threat’ and ‘9th inning’ (both produced by longtime production parter Timbaland), the parent album ‘Block Party’ has yet to hit stores.

During a recent interview on The Yo Show on Yahoo, Elliott explained at length the reasons for her hiatus and offered an update on her comeback.
