While the last week has brought Beyonce good news in abundance, yesterday saw some of her fans met with the cruel occurrence that is death, losing one of the many people the performer has inspired over the years.

Yes, hours after attending a showing of the entertainers ‘Mrs.Carter Show‘, 16 year old Jasmine Guillaume lost her life in a Brooklyn fire, leaving behind a family and friends who now mourn and miss her bitterly.

Yesterday evening brought with it the screening of Beyonce‘s self-titled visual album, held at the ‘School of Visual Arts’ in New York City.

However, while it was the clips that drew her fans in, it was her personality that they left most in love with, privy to  Q&A session that saw the star showcase her down to earth nature and ever endearing humility.

Placing the year’s hottest tours on a list which sees #1 represent the ‘Most Searched’, the tally features appearances by Beyonce, Pink, Rihanna, One Direction and Pop ‘Treasure’ Bruno Mars.

It may have shifted 6,380,000 units in the US alone, but Robin Thicke‘s ‘Blurred Lines’ seems to have pulled quite the cruel trick on his once flawless public persona.

For, thanks to its ‘eyebrow raising’ lyrics and playful take on the sensitive topic that is clear and discernible sexual consent, he has earned new found critics who say the cut goes a long way to trivialise rape.

So, in honour of the steps they say he’s taken towards degrading women, these critics have named him ‘Sexist of the Year.‘
