As she’s proved on numerous occasions, Ashanti‘s arrival is- and will always remain- one of the best ‘things’ to happen to and for R&B.

Generating a crossover appeal that earned her endorsements and appearances that embedded her deep into the general public’s psyche, there’s no doubt the singer’s success served as somewhat of a blueprint for a then 21 year old Beyonce and her then manager Mathew Knowles.

Alas, without the infrastructure that was Murder Inc. to sustain that appeal, Ashanti now finds herself cast to the sidelines while acts she once inspired create legacies far more celebrated than their own. Legacies, built and created by the major label systems the singer is in dire need of, but continues to reject.

Now watch her showcase her ever impressive vocal prowess during a performance of the Christmas classic ‘Let It Snow‘, performed live on ‘Good Day NY‘!

…and the controversy continues.
