Unlike the photo seen below, we’re not sure Paula Deen is smiling much these days after the net has been flooded with headlines detailing a recent lawsuit alleging the use of racist remarks by the kitchen queen.

After admitting to the use of the “N” word (as reported here) during a legal deposition, Deen stirred controversy with the succeeding defense of her use of the racial epithet.  In the days since it surfaced online, spokespeople for the Savannah savant as well as Deen herself  (via Youtube video above) have denied that she is racist.  Their pleas were not enough, however, as news has surfaced today that the top chef has been dropped by longtime TV home Food Network.

The channel did not detail a reason why they decided against renewing Deen’s show – one of their top rated – but speculation suggests it is due to the current storm of bad press surrounding Miss Deen.

Fortunately for her, in celebrating her knack for hit making, sales of the aforementioned ‘Mimi’ continue rise this month by way of the hype surrounding her new single ‘Beautiful’.

Jay-Z rocked the music world this week with the announcement of new album ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’.

Hailing the arrival of “new rules”, the Roc Nation mogul underlined his point by confirming that the project will be launched in partnership with Samsung, who give 1 million copies of the LP away to users of Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4, and Note II on July 4th by way of a specially created app (which will be available to download earlier on June 24th). Thereafter, the project will receieve a traditional release on July 7th.

Many would agree that the out-of-the-box campaign is, in many ways, as innovative as it perceives itself to be. Yet, for all the Hov hoopla, one question became a constant once the dust had settled: will the million units count towards Mr Carter’s first week sales on the Billboard 200?

Well, wonder no more because the answer awaits below, as too does a small preview of the project’s material…
