Looks like FOX’s ‘American Idol’ is looking to give the idea of musical chairs a new meaning.

As has made its share of circulation, the speculation that ‘If You Had My Love’ singer Jennifer Lopez had intentions to return to the next season of ‘American Idol’ was ended when the songstress officially announced her departure today.

Indeed, yesterday did see the exit of fellow singer Steven Tyler from the show’s judging panel (as Lopez implied the chance of her following suit).  Well, the Bronx beauty cleared up any rumors as she phoned in to Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show to tearfully impart news of her pending departure.

We guess not even that cool multimillion dollar payout was enough to keep the ‘On the 6’ maestra onboard.  Take a listen below:

Temperatures may be rising outside, but it looks like ‘Turn Off the Lights’ singer Nelly Furtado is taking to cooler climates for the visual for her highly anticipated new single ‘Spirit Indestructible’ – the title track from her new album.

A return home of sorts for the Canadian songstress, the Aaron A. directed clip visits Vancouver to highlight the natural scenery of the land – from mountains, beaches, and more.  Given the well-received ‘Big Hoops’, Furtado undoubtedly has big expectations for its follow-up to fare even better.

With newly surfaced behind-the-scenes footage to tease its forthcoming arrival, get into it after the jump:

Following his ‘Chris Brown centric‘ sighting at ‘Villa Blanca‘ two days ago, Drake was snapped out and about in Hollywood hours later after stopping by at a local night club.

Joined by his road manger CJ Gibson, the chart topping MC was all smiles as he left the venue and made his way into his Bentley– sporting an ‘interesting’ Blondie inspired get up.

All this, days after he welcomed positive reviews in the UK following his set at the 2012 Wireless Fest.

As illustrious as Madonna‘s career has been, it’d be criminal to omit the many enemies she’s amassed over the years. Indeed, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and more recently Lady GaGa, are but a few of those whose the “supposed” Queen of Pop has dug her claws into.

And while many of the aforementioned have maintained dignified silence in the face of her Madgesty’s insecure outbursts, fellow legend Cher is not one of them.

Never one to hold to hold her tongue when it comes to her ‘Hung Up’ rival, the ‘Believe’ singer has taken to Twitter to voice her latest remarks. Draw back them curtains, because Ms. Cher is throwing shade aplenty.

Enter Byron Gold.

The talented Londoner is drumming up quite the buzz with his debut single ‘Recipe For Love’; unsurprising as his artistic skill-set is a recipe for success.

A singer-songwriter by nature, Gold’s brand of Soul-fused-Pop (not to mention his pin-up appeal and unique tone) renders him a compelling chart prospect for an industry so thirsty for something and someone “different”.

It’s this unique proposition of his which caught the attention of R&B pioneer Keith Sweat, who enlisted the budding star to open for his Indig02 show recently.

*******

Hence, in moulding his buzz and experience into a meatier product, Gold has teamed up with a cast of writers and producers, who’ve crafted hits for the likes of Emeli Sande, Alexandra Burke, Duffy, and JLS.

Be sure to keep an eye out for this rising star.

It seems the ‘Material Girl’ has landed herself in hot water for ‘stealing’ just that…material.

Indeed, despite 20 years having passed since its release, the origin of Madonna‘s Vogue‘ is currently being contested, following a lawsuit filed by a record company claiming she stole pieces of their work to spawn the jam.

Soulful crooner Frank Ocean has maintained a media silence of sorts since his truth-bearing letter rocked the industry in the most pronounced of ways nine days ago.

And why not? Already a relative recluse, the singer’s immense buzz mixed with resonance of his honesty has seen his ‘Channel Orange’ LP rocket to the top of charts, with predicted digital sales of over 100k.

However, keen to actually hit the promo trail on his own terms, Ocean chose quirky Zane Lowe from BBC Radio 1 to open up to about the events of the last two weeks and beyond.

Indeed, explained are the 24 year old’s reasons for pushing up the album’s release, his experience performing on Fallon, touring moving forward, and the creative process of recording the chart-topping set.
