Last week, Rap icon 50 Cent surprised fans when he spoke in favor of same- sex relationships, revealing he himself had engaged in- as he put it- ‘fetish areas’ in the past.

Commended for cosigning with popular opinion, the MC’s remarks on the matter followed support for gay marriage by President Obama and ROC President Jay Z. However, what many do not know is that 50’s comments on the matter did not end there.

It goes without saying that we love  our divas we do here at  That Grape Juice. So  imagine our excitement when 2008 brought with it the ‘Artists Stand Up to Cancer’ project and its larger-than-life line up.

Helmed by the legendary combo of L.A. Reid and Babyface, ‘Just Stand Up!’ was released released in August 2008 as part of the ‘Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C)’ charity / cancer research campaign. Fronted by somewhat of a “super-group”, consisting of Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Natasha Bedingfield, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Keyshia Cole, LeAnn Rimes, Ashanti and Ciara; this project was many a fan’s dream come true… or worst nightmare.

The single achieved moderate success in the US where it peaked at the 11th position of the Billboard Hot 100 and was also popular in Canada where it reached at #10 on the official charts. It was a Top 40 hit in the UK (#26) and in Australia (#39)

Following the initial buzz of the recorded track, the featured artists assembled to perform the cut live during the ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ TV special; a huge feat in itself given the schedules of the largely A-list line-up. And while Etheridge, Crow and Rimes couldn’t hit the stage, the stars (who were joined by replacement Nicole Scherzinger) put on quite the show.

While staged for an amazing cause, any such showing, naturally, calls for comparison. We’re sure you know we feel nailed it vs those who sounded like they were gargling concrete; but we want to know what you think:

Who did best?
Who should have stayed?
Where was Ciara?

Keep your friends close and your competition closer.

At least that’s the mind-set Rihanna must have employed last night in London when she ran into “chart rival” Rita Ora. The pair crossed paths en route to Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s ‘Watch The Throne Tour’ at the O2 Arena, and as per the shot above ol’ RiRi couldn’t keep her hands off the ‘How We Do’ singer. They’d then go on to follow each other on Twitter.

Again, keep your friends close and your competition closer…

Since Ora burst onto the charts earlier this year, the Londoner has been touted (on mass) as Rih’s “replacement”. With good reason, too.

Aged just 22, she’s packing everything her Roc Nation sister is, plus actual vocal talent. What’s more, despite their Nation affiliation, the ladies are in reality signed to rival labels. Hence regardless of any media stirring or their own personal takes on it, they’re entirely each other’s competition – especially with Rita clearly being positioned in Fenty’s “lane” and ironically working it better than her.

Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Kreayshawn is back!

One year after launching the viral hit ‘Gucci Gucci‘, the Bay belle serves ‘Breakfast’, the latest cut from her debut LP ‘Something About Kreay‘.

Featuring ‘Beez In The Trap’ spitter 2 Chainz, the upbeat number will welcome its video Monday, but until then- listen below…

It was all going so well…

Chris Brown unmasked the cover for the deluxe version of his ‘Fortune’ LP today. And yes, we gasped (then laughed) just like you did.

Having served up a solid array of pre-release singles (such as ‘Turn Up The Music’ and co), we’re uber rooting for Breezy. But if this isn’t a Photoshop fail, we’re not sure what is. We’ll stick with the original, thanks.

‘Fortune’ hits stores on July 3rd.
