The search for ‘The Voice UK’ is finally underway!

Already a smash in the US (and its original home of Holland), the show has arrived on British shores by way of the BBC. Coaches this side of the pond are Jessie J, will.i.am, Danny O’ Donoghue, and the legendary Tom Jones.

Billed as the definitive talent-search, many are predicting it to serve as a true contender to The X Factor‘s strong hold.

‘The Boy Is Mine’ co-stars Brandy & Monica certainly have made their promo rounds in support of their latest joint effort ‘It All Belongs To Me’.

As plans for a joint tour are still in the mix, the ladies, though going their separate ways with solo forthcoming singles ‘Put It Down’ and ‘Without You’ respectively, can still be found reuniting on the latest issue of Ebony.

Here’s hoping the image reboot is a prelude the re-revving of her ‘Glassheart’ project; which we hear is finally poised to set sail next month when she performs at the BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekender.

Contemporary gospel duo Mary Mary have seen many titles precede their names. From ‘Grammy winning’ to ‘best-selling’ and even ‘ground breaking’, the Californian sister act have seen their musical wings span across multiple genres in the music industry.  A feat which has won the two-some about as much acclaim as it has criticism.

Nevertheless, the sisters – Erica and Tina – press on to enlarge their territory.  Most recently nabbing their own reality show on WeTV (aptly titled ‘Mary Mary’), fans get to a side of the ‘Shackles’ singers like never before.

This week’s That Grape Juice Cover Star is Shantee Tyler. Watch the singer, who was born in Germany, raised in Denver, and resides in Atlanta, tackle Brandy and Monica‘s recent duet ‘It All Belongs To Me’ below:

While not boasting the horse-power of the cut’s original performers, Shantee (who you may recognise from MTV’s Making The Band) turned in a wholly solid performance. Controlled, yet daring (see: applying her own adlibs), her rendition puts a fresh twist on the track. Good stuff.

‘Heart Attack’ hitmaker Trey Songz has long been a hit with the ladies, his biggest fan being none other than April Tucker (his mom).  Just in time for Mother’s Day, the two guested Power 99’s Morning Show where mom gave her opinion of his ‘Heart Attack’/“Motivation (RMX)” co-star Kelly Rowland and more.

Looks like the ladies have a new reason to flash those megawatt smiles.  For, fans of hit gospel duo Mary Mary and their self-titled WeTV reality show will have a new reason to rejoice as news breaks the twosome will be back for a Season 2!  The news comes on the helm of the release of their latest compilation LP ‘Go Get It’ (May 8) which has also been winning rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

Reports indicate the network has requested 10 hour long episodes for the show’s sophomore season.  Until then, we at TGJ anxiously await the highly anticipated remainder of the season and forthcoming finale (May 31 at 9PM).
