What are your ‘Top 5 Songs Of The Moment’?
As the release of Keyshia Cole’s 3rd LP ‘A Different Me’ draws nearer (December 16th), a new cut from the set has surfaced in the form of ‘You Complete Me’. The drum-driven ballad is head and shoulders above the overly mediocre ‘Playa Cardz Right’ – which till now still baffles me as to why it was chosen as the project’s lead single. Listening to this has kinda reignited my interest in the album. Here’s hoping Keyshia delivers the goods with the LP more generally.
Hit or Miss?
Boy has this been one slow a** news day. Anyway lol, the UK’s top girl group Sugababes performed their current single ‘No Can Do’ on the Paul O’ Grady Show recently. I must say, I’m really feeling the track, as well as this live showing. Good stuff.
What do you think of the performance?
Womanizer
Interview
Good stuff, if only for the energetic atmosphere and stage spectacle. Though she’s just about doing enough to make this album and project more generally be her ‘Mariah Emancipation Comeback’ I’m gonna need ol’ Britney to give me some umph in future showings. Is it me or could she move a lot better before? I’m talking Janet-esque moves with some serious stage swagger? Time will tell if the so-so’ness of her recent showings is nothing more than ‘rust’ or a case of us having to make do with the Diet Coke Britney…kinda like how we’re making do with the almost expired Mariah Carey. Things that make you go hmmm…

Will you be buying ‘Circus’?
Has Britney still got ‘it’?
CHICAGO (Reuters) – The estranged brother-in-law of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson was arrested and will be charged with the October slayings of three of her relatives, police said on Monday.
“We have obtained an arrest warrant for William Balfour. He was released to Chicago detectives,” Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond said, adding that Balfour would be charged with three counts of murder.
Balfour, 27, who had been married to Hudson’s sister Julia, was questioned after the slayings but not charged. He was imprisoned for violating his parole on a previous attempted murder conviction, and was scheduled to have a hearing on Wednesday.
Bond would not give details about what evidence led police to charge Balfour for the shooting deaths of Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, brother, Jason Hudson, 29, and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.
Donerson and Jason Hudson were found shot to death on October 24 in Donerson’s South Side home. Four days later, King’s body was found in a stolen sport utility vehicle parked on the city’s West Side. A handgun used in the slayings was found nearby.
The Chicago Tribune reported investigators had evidence that Balfour had a gun matching the weapon. {Source}
Here’s hoping some good comes out of this terrible situation.
Any thoughts?
The video for Brandy’s latest single ‘Long Distance’ finally made its long-awaited debut today. Having not initially gravitated toward the song, it seems to be all I’m blasting on my iPod these days. An absolutely amazing track. Definitely a grower. About the video, it really captures the essence of the song. I must say though, had that colour not broken in at the exact time it did, I’d be typing a very different review, as I admittedly was getting a lil bored. All in all a great song and an equally as good video.
‘Long Distance’ is lifted from Brandy’s forthcoming album ‘Human’, which hits stores December 9th.
What do you think of the video?
“Nobody really wants to recognize that Beyoncé is a f*cking living legend and that she is just as great, if not greater, than the artists that we had in the past…that she’s probably greater than Tina Turner.”
No doubt this one will get tongues wagging…

Britney Spears’ much-hyped ‘For The Record’ MTV documentary aired in the US last night. From all accounts, the show was awesome. Very insightful.
For my UK’ers, the hour long special airs on SKY One at 8pm tonight. I’ll be watching, will you?
US folk, what did you think of the special?

Amy Winehouse’s husband has admitted he made his wife a junkie – and he plans to leave the troubled pop star to “save her life.”
“I dragged Amy into [drugs] and without me there is no doubt that she would never have gone down that road,” Blake Fielder-Civil told Britain’s News of the World in an explosive new interview.
“Now I have to let her go to save her life. I am not abandoning her. I am doing this out of love.”
Fielder-Civil, who likens his relationship with his wife to that of Romeo and Juliet, is currently in a London-area rehab facility where he has resided since his Nov. 5 release from jail.
Winehouse has still not visited her husband since he left prison, but was hospitalized again on Nov. 20 for what her rep says was a “reaction to medication.” It’s unclear whether she has been released.
“I introduced her to heroin, crack cocaine and self-harming. I feel more than guilty,” Fielder-Civil says. {Source}
Here’s hoping this allows for Amy to clean up her act. She’s too talented to allow the drugs bug to tarnish what can still be a very bright future.
This weekend saw the ‘net debut of a new Beyonce track titled ‘Roc’. Said to be a cut recorded during the recording sessions for current album ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’, the mid-tempo track was produced by Stargate. About the song itself; I am liking this one a lot. Bouncy embraced a much more mainstream (some would argue generic) sound on the slower-paced ‘I Am…’ side of her current album, so it’s real refreshing to hear her do her thing once again on a slower paced R&B offering.
That said, it’s the lyrics that make this one a winner. Very heartfelt and genuine-seeming. Wonder who she is singing about LOL…
Hit or Miss?
Britney – Womanizer
Alexandra – Toxic
Alexandra – Listen
Britney…what can I say? She seemed to have more spunk than that Bambi Awards performance, but she still has a way to go. Baby steps, I guess. It’s great to see her seeming like ‘old Britney’ again.
Speaking of great, Alexandra! She absolutely nailed it – especially on Listen. Amazing. She really established herself as THE front-runner in this year’s show. This girl must win.

Pop superstar Britney Spears gave the first live (loose term) performance of ‘Womanizer’ at Germany’s Bambi Awards tonight. I’m gonna need to see more performances, as the theatrics and major spectacle really veiled whether or not Ms. Spears still has it or nor – which after all is what we all want to know.
