With over 100 million records sold globally, Mary J. Blige stands as one of the most successful female acts in R&B history.

Yet, despite launching unforgettable songs like ‘Real Love,’ ‘Not Gon Cry,’ ‘My Life,’ ‘Family Affair,’ ‘Be Without You,’ and many more over her 32-year career, fans would be surprised to learn most of her sales accolades have been awarded to those tunes’ parent albums and not the singles themselves.

The latest evidence of that came Thursday (January 4) when the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) lifted a toast to her 2022 hit ‘Good Morning Gorgeous‘ – the title track from her 14th studio album of the same name.

As reported, the power couple welcomed their third child together (and CiCi’s fourth overall) last month.

And, if the response to one of their latest lists is any indication, that criticism won’t be stopping any time soon.

Turning heads this week with the unveiling of the ‘100 Best R&B Songs of the 21st Century,’ the lineup featured some expected entries in unexpected positions alongside some snubs and downright shocking placements.

Among those was the surprise that Beyonce‘s solo rendition of Destiny’s Child‘s 2001 classic ‘Dangerously In Love‘ was crowned the top female R&B song of the century.

You can’t help but love to see the (long overdue) flowers Dionne Warwick has been getting over the last few years.

Beyond reportedly moving forward on a highly anticipated biopic with names like Letoya Luckett and Teyana Taylor circling the rumor mill as potential leads, Warwick was nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 and later included in the class of trailblazing acts toasted at the 2023 Kennedy Center Honors.

The homages seem to show no sign of slowing as the 83-year-young diva is kicking off 2024 with even more recognition of her legendary career.

The stars were out in full force to celebrate LeBron James‘ 39th birthday.

And amongst them was a collection of Hollywood’s most notable names including Beyonce and Adele. 

With the party taking on a Studio 54 theme (which was playfully reworked to Studio 84 to reflect LeBron’s birth year), the ladies embraced the dress code in earnest.

They were snapped posing alongside their respective boos, JAY-Z and Rich Paul (who is James’ longtime agent).

The Carters styled and profiled en route to LeBron James‘ Studio 54-themed birthday bash.

Queen Bey marveled in Missoni while stunning alongside her mogul hubby HOV.

The sighting follows the global push for the diva’s chart-topping movie ‘Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce,’ which included a surprise visit to Brazil – where the superstar attended the premiere of the flick and met with fans.

Travis Scott continues the push for his chart-topping album ‘UTOPIA’ with the video for ‘TOPIA TWINS.’

The Hip-Hop titan tapped The Clermont Twins for the visual (who turn up in earnest); also featured are guest lyricists 21 Savage and Rob49.

Directed by Scott alongside Tyler Ross, the trippy clip arrives on the heels of the theatrical release of the rapper’s film ‘Circus Maximus’ and ahead of the launch of ‘Circus Maximus Tour.’

Reneé Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion have unwrapped the video for their brand new collaboration, ‘Not My Fault.’

Lifted from the soundtrack for the ‘Mean Girls’ revival, the infectious cut has been paired with a colorful, choreography-driven visual that sees the pair dance up a storm.

Directed by Mia Barnes, the clip arrives ahead of the January 12 US release of both the film and its companion album.

Ludacris is the latest name to hit back at Katt Williams in the wake of the comedian’s now-infamous interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. 

As reported, the controversial comic let rip on a lengthy list of stars – including Kevin Hart, Cedric The Entertainer, and Ludacris.

Unfiltered and unbridled, Williams claimed the rapper/actor was at an Illuminati gathering and attributed this to his success – particularly in the movie sphere.

Shots were fired at Ludacris’ partner Eudoxie Bridges too, who Williams intimated is a “light skin, ugly face wife.”
