However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Ava Max, Calum ScottL Devine, and LANY & Kelsea Ballerini.

Among the 19 tracks that line Migos long-awaited fourth studio album, ‘Culture III’ (released June 11). the DJ Durel-produced ‘Avalanche’ has been christened the set’s second single – the follow-up to the Hot 100 top 40 hit, ‘Straightenin.’

Launched a day ahead of its parent album’s release, ‘Avalanche’ – which samples The Temptations’ classic ‘Papa Was a Rolling Stone’ – was first introduced via a live performance at ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ Wednesday (June 9).  Elements of the performance were then incorporated into the tune’s official music video.

To accent the throwback vibe of the tune, the trio donned matching suits and sunglasses while leading a live band.

Christina Aguilera fans, affectionately called #Fighters, may be gearing up to help her suit up for chart battle sooner than they think.

The GRAMMY winner, who took a six-year break between the releases of her 2012 (‘Lotus’) and 2018 (‘Liberation’) albums, promised she’d never take that extended of a hiatus again.

And, if the words of the famed music producer who is helping to helm tracks for her next project is to be believed, the songstress is set to keep that promise.

As far as 2020 success stories go, few can boast the heights achieved by Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa.

In addition to nabbing their highest career placements on the Hot 100 with hits like ‘Savage’ and ‘Don’t Start Now’ respectively, they both placed albums in the Billboard 200’s top 10, dominated radio, and even earned multiple GRAMMY nods at the next year’s ceremony for their work.

Both currently sitting inside the Hot 100’s top 20 with genre-blending hits (Lipa with DaBaby-assisted ‘Levitating’ and Stallion with Maroon 5‘s ‘Beautiful Mistakes’), the divas seem poised to continue in that tread with a recent lovefest on social media that proves they’re both eyeing a collaboration in the future.

As the world slowly, but surely returns to normal, expect to see more and more artists not only hop to make up for lost time but also race to meet the Recording Academy’s updated August 31 cutoff for consideration at GRAMMYs 2022.

Evidence of this came Friday (June 11), which has marked the most jam-packed music release date of the year to date.

A Hip Hop-heavy heap of hopeful hits, Migos led the charge by delivering their long-awaited fourth studio album, ‘Culture III’ (the latest installment in the ‘Culture’ series).  Elsewhere, femcees ran the show as Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat dropped new gems while Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Latto served as features on male-led Rap releases.

In the Pop realm, Jessie J returned with her banging single, ‘I Want Love,’ while the likes of Ava Max, Kylie Minogue, Bebe Rexha, Lorde, and Maroon 5 all made their respective presences felt across the new music scene.
