This summer brought with it the release of Disney+ film ‘Black Is King,’ which served as the visual album to her compilation project ‘The Lion King: The Gift.’

Billed as Queen Bey’s love letter to Africa, the action packed production brought with it resonating videos for the likes of ‘My Power’ and ‘Brown Skin Girl.’

Colossal in scale, the film featured a wide range of African talent (in front of the camera and behind it) and was shot in a variety of locations – including Lagos, Accra, London, and Los Angeles.

A hit upon its release, now further details about its success has been unveiled.

R&B singer-songwriter Queen Naija has built a royal following since bursting on the scene with her 2017 breakthrough hits, ‘Medicine’ and ‘Karma.’

Three Platinum and two R&B chart-topping hits later, the 25-year-old finally lifted the lid on her official debut album – ‘missunderstood.’

Saweetie taps in to yet another personal milestone ahead of her forthcoming debut album, ‘Pretty B*tch Music.’

Just a week before learning she’d earned the third RIAA certification plaque of her career for the ongoing success of the LP’s kickoff single, ‘Tap In’ (click here to read more), the 26-year-old unveiled the tune’s official follow-up – ‘Back to the Streets (featuring Jhené Aiko).

After 7 days of warm reception on streaming and digital download platforms, the Timbaland-produced track premiered on the Hot 100 this week at a promising #76.  Her highest opening ever, the song not only bests the respective #91 and #81 debuts of her two biggest hits to date (‘My Type’ and ‘Tap In’) but its arrival also marks Saweetie’s first single post on the tally the first week it was eligible to do so.
