Since winning the ‘X Factor UK‘ in 2008, Alexandra Burke has launched an impactful and inspiring run as a star of stage and song.

However, as many of her fans know, her journey has not been an easy one.

For, the years following her win saw a number of forces within the British media and music industry set out to derail her Beyoncé-approved career via disparaging stories planted in the press (and minds of the general public) and moves designed to stop her music from receiving radio airplay.

Today she is telling her story with hopes it will put an end to the injustice she faced and inspire the generation to create the change the business is in dire need of.

Alexandra, in her own words, below…

K. Michelle dropped jaws and had tongues wagging when she launched into a fiery rant to slam longtime nemesis Tamar Braxton earlier this week.

Alleging the ‘Love & War’ singer had engaged in a war with Jermaine Dupri‘s mother for having an affair with his father (Michael T. Mauldin), Michelle also suggested that war led to physical altercation between the ladies that resulted in Braxton getting beatdown in an elevator.

Friday (June 19), Dupri’s longtime friend and musical collaborator Da Brat (born Shawntae Harris) took to her radio platform – ‘The Rickey Smiley Morning Show’ – to weigh in on the drama.  Although she confirmed the woman who Braxton was confronted by was the wife of Mauldin, the rapstress-turned-radio host assured listeners the woman was NOT Jermaine’s mother.

In fact, Harris says she was there when the smackdown went down.  Hear her recount below:

As we reported here, earlier this week ‘Can’t Raise a Man’ singer K. Michelle raised eyebrows and a few #Tamartians’ blood pressure when she launched into a rant about on-and-off-again nemesis Tamar Braxton.

Among a number of jaw-dropping quotes from the clip was the allegation the ‘Love and War’ songstress had an affair with Jermaine Dupri‘s father, which – according to Michelle – led to Braxton getting beatdown by his mom after it was discovered.

Reigniting their nearly decade-long duel, the video quickly went viral and landed on the desk of David Adefeso – Braxton’s Nigerian-born businessman beau who took a moment during the couple’s YouTube show, ‘Quarantined & Coupled with Tamar Braxton and David Adefeso,’ to discuss how the accusations made him feel.

With a mullet-inspired mane in tow, Teyana Taylor is high fashion personified aboard the latest issue of ‘i-D’ magazine, due on stands later this month.

In a scorching black-and-white session lensed by Mario Sorrenti alongside Carlos Nazario as fashion director, the singer-actress – who is celebrating the long-awaited release of her junior LP ‘The Album’ (click here to stream) – took to the mag to discuss everything from music to motherhood and more.

Speaking to ‘i-D’ about her new star-studded LP, Taylor said:

“I went from a girl to a woman, to a mom, to a wife. I literally just recorded that journey. I always wanted to be an artist that really felt what I was singing, which is the reason why I work off of emotion,” she stated. “If it’s not something I’m going through at the time, then it has to be something that I went through before.”
