Already no stranger to history books thanks to her seemingly untouchable stats on streaming platforms, Ariana Grande‘s ‘Positions’ era has only seen her collect even more mentions in Billboard’s record logs.

As if the album coming as the second of her career to chart all of its songs on the Hot 100 wasn’t enough, the LP’s also enjoyed historic stats attributed to its title track as well as its follow-up single, ’34+35′ (as we reported here).

Now, thanks to the arrival of ‘Test Drive’ – the only other song from the project’s deluxe edition to land entry on the charts as of time reported – the GRAMMY winner’s accelerated her bid for yet another history-making mark.

The American Music Awards 2020 were held earlier tonight live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

The Taraji P. Henson-hosted ceremony had many-a-highlight thanks to jaw-dropping performances from the likes of Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, BTS, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and many more (as we reported here), but the biggest star of the show – as expected – remained the awards themselves.

The female Rap scene has seen the introduction of a wave of major names over the last decade. Artists like  Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and the City Girls have proven that they possess the lyrics, flow and aesthetic to back up their buzz.

Indeed their songs not only have us bopping in the car, but also have empowered many young women to be themselves… unapologetically.

After a lengthy drought and bewildering “one-at-a-time entrance policy,” the industry has been blessed with the emergence of so much talent unilaterally.

2020’s handed out its fair share of wins to female rappers and, if Kash Doll‘s latest victory is any indication, the year’s far from finished doing so.

The Detroit-born femcee may be hard-at-work on her sophomore album, the follow-up to 2019’s critically acclaimed ‘Stacked,’ but thanks to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) she can now stack another career first on her growing pile of achievements.
