Undoubtedly expected to make a splash upon its premiere on the Billboard Hot 100, the gargantuan impact made by Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion‘s joint effort, ‘WAP,’ may be better categorized as a tsunami.

Opening atop the tally with numbers that rival some of music history’s biggest debuts ever, the Ayo the Producer-crafted bop – which largely samples Frank Ski‘s 1992 club anthem ‘Whores in This House’ – was penciled in record books several times over in just its first seven days.

Like the 90 million who’ve watched Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘WAP’ video, Russell Brand admits to being “spellbound” by the “power of female sensuality and sexuality’ the racy visual.

With collaborations with Megan Thee Stallion (‘Pastor’), Cardi B (‘Twerk’), Saweetie (‘My Type’ official remix), and Doja Cat (‘P***y Talk’) to their credit, City Girls are no stranger to racking up features with today’s leading ladies of Hip Hop.

Yet, there’s one name on their list of prospective guest stars that remains unchecked:  Nicki Minaj.

That undesired absence was reaffirmed recently when the duo – hot on the promo trail in support of their latest album ‘City on Lock’ (click here to stream) – confirmed they’d like to lock in studio time with the Young Money maven.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion made a splash with their raunchy visual for ‘WAP,’ which has the rappers set to top the charts in the coming week.

However, the racy nature of both the song and video (which stand for “Wet A** P***y”) hasn’t thrilled all.

Indeed, as reported, CeeLo Green lambasted the duo (along with other femcees) for their displays of sexuality. And a sect of other males have echoed similar sentiments.

Not one to hold back, Meg addressed the matter and highlighted hypocrisy.

Megan Thee Stallion was one-fourth of one of the most heated races for the Billboard Hot 100’s summit last week as her Beyoncé-assisted hit, ‘Savage,’ challenged Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Say So’ remix for the title.

As revealed yesterday, Stallion and co. claimed the runner-up spot – bested by the ‘Say So’ duo (who benefited from single bundling as well as a surge in sales, streaming, and Pop radio airplay).

However, the second place landing is by no means a loss.

In addition making history for being part of the first time two female rappers occupied the top two spots, ‘Savage’ was also awarded Meg’s highest tenancy on the Hot 100 thanks to 42.1 million U.S. streams, 50,000 digital downloads, and 51.3 million impressions on radio.

As she celebrates that win, look inside to see who joins her in the top 25 on this week’s ‘TGJ Chart Check’:
