DMX‘s funeral took place today and brought with it a number of memorable moments: most of which either skewed somber or uplifting.

One moment few could have foreseen, though, was the drama poured onto the stage by a man named Jungle. 

Purporting to be a friend of the star’s for over 20 years, he began to give a eulogy on the broadcast.

Midway through, he was stopped by the presiding minister at Brooklyn’s Christian Cultural Center, who revealed the speech was not authorized. Jungle was condemned for “violating order and violating respect.”

Family, friends, and fans are uniting as one to say goodbye to DMX at his Homegoing Celebration. 

Presented by BET, the funeral event will serve as the final salute to the rapper who died April 9 aged just 50. It comes a day after a special Barclays Center memorial yesterday (April 24).

The global health crisis prevented a mass gathering. However, the send-off is being broadcast for all by way of a live stream feed.

DMX‘s Celebration of Life has brought with it a number of poignant moments, as friends and family paid tribute to the rapper who died aged just 50 on April 9. 

One of the most moving moments came courtesy of one of the MC’s young daughters.

Also blessed with the gift of music, she took center stage alongside her 14 brothers and sisters and deliverd a powerful performance of an original song in honor of her father.
