Lil Kim is doing the media rounds for new album ‘9’ – her first full length studio offering in 14 years.

And, in a bid to make a Billboard debut with the project (which missed the Top 200 in its opening week), one of her stops was Billboard’s offices where she sat down for a fish bowl interview of “random” questions.

One of them quizzed her on her favorite female rappers of today’s new crop of names.

The year is 2008.

As the teen-pop princesses of the 90s step into womanhood with loud, proud and career-defining releases, a new artist named Lady Gaga emerges into Myspace Kid/Limewire world dominated by the likes of MIA, VV Brown, Luciana, Robyn, Diplo,Santogold and Space Cowboy.

In that year, as another fresh-faced starlet named Katy Perry dominated the charts with tales of girl on girl action, the indie-feeling Gaga used YouTube (still in its infancy) to cultivate fan base with help from original content shot to support her debut album ‘The Fame.’

Ciara marked her 34th birthday with a fun-filled appearance on the ‘Ellen’ show.

With the anchor on break, guest host Justin Hartley stepped in and chopped it up with CiCi about her her year, family life, and upcoming Nickelodeon series ‘America’s Most Musical Family.’

After, she participated in a dance-off with resident DJ tWitch – which saw the pair square off to a number of jams, including Janet Jackson‘s ‘Rhythm Nation.’

Camila Cabello lit up the stage on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ in the UK today.

The Pop starlet was joined by an army of dancers and together they delivered a dynamic showing ‘Romance’ jam ‘Liar.’

Released last month, the flavorsome song is one of several rolled out in support of the album, which believed to be due this year.

K. Michelle is wasting no time kicking off the push for new single ‘The Rain.’

Because, a mere matter of hours after debuting the track, the R&B songbird has hatched the cut’s accompanying video.

The release (which samples New Edition‘s ‘Can You Stand The Rain’) is lifted from the star’s forthcoming album ‘All Monsters Are Human,’ which also spawned the City Girls assisted ‘Supahood.’ All are being supported by K’s US ‘Over Some D*ck Tour.’
