Emmy-nominated actress, writer, producer, and comedienne Issa Rae continues to prove herself a mistress of many trades as evidenced by the unveiling of Raedio – a new label co-founded by the 34-year-old. Developed in partnership with Atlantic Records, the label was designed to extend a platform across media to align acts with film and television projects, commercials, podcasts, and beyond.
Speaking on the joint venture, Rae said:
“Music has always been an essential part of every project I do and working with emerging talent is a personal passion. Raedio allows me to continue that work within the music industry and audio entertainment space. The Atlantic Records team are innovators in terms of shifting and shaping culture. I’m excited to join forces with them to discover new artists.”
To give music lovers a taste of what the imprint will offer, today brought with it the arrival the first single of Raedio’s flagship artist, TeaMarr. Titled ‘Kinda Love,’ its accompanying music video (directed by Ari Lennox and Lucky Dave) is available below for your viewing pleasure.
