As if we didn’t lose count of the plethora of Hot 100 records broken by Drake in 2017 and 2018 (see:  most time at #1 in a calendar year, most career Hot 100 hits of any solo act ever, most simultaneous Hot 100 hits, most #1 hits among rappers, etc.), it looks like he doesn’t have any plans of slowing down in 2019.

His latest chart triumph comes courtesy of Travis Scott‘s 2018 megahit, ‘Sicko Mode’ (on which the Torontoian hitmaker features).  Despite debuting in the top 5 in August 2018, the song has not once dropped out of the top 10.  Coming in at #10 this week, the extended stay brought with it a new chart championship.

Disney drumming up buzz for their summer blockbuster ‘Aladdin.’

Set to fly into theaters on May 24th 2019 worldwide, recent months has seen the live-action remake teased in earnest.

However, today brings with it the first, full-length trailer for the hotly anticipated flick/

Newcomers Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott star as Aladdin and Jasmine respectively, while and Hollywood heavyweight Will Smith appears as Genie. A move its hoped will magnetise the masses.

As for what folk can expect from the re-telling of the the classic story, director Guy Ritchie promises that the narrative “has been revamped to reflect present-day ideals.”

Rap royal Nicki Minaj shared her live palace with one of London’s most notable rising talent’s last night.

The Hip-Hop superstar brought the ‘Nicki Juice Wrld Tour,’ to the British capital – rocking the famed O2 Arena.

Keeping to her word from almost two years ago, Onika invited Ms. Banks on-stage with her and gave her the spotlight to shine.

Minaj has long expressed her support of the femcee and promised to invite her to perform when her show rolled into town.

Only the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin could command a tribute performance roster chock full of some of music’s greatest vocal talents.  And, much like the late diva’s televised homegoing celebration, the vocalists that lined the bill did not disappoint.

Patti Labelle, Celine Dion, H.E.R. Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monae, Fantasia, Shirley Caesar, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson are just a few of the names tapped by industry executive Clive Davis to perform at CBS special ‘Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul.’
