One of the year’s most unexpected pairings comes courtesy of chart-blazing music star Khalid and rising rapstress/songstress Bree Runway.
Titled ‘Be the One,’ the tune tells the tale of two hesitant lovers on the precipice of a passionate love affair.
“I can see the tears in your eyes when you look in mine / Told you for the thousandth time, you should be the one for me / Should I stay here tonight? Baby, you decide / Hopin’ you’d be the one, you, you could be the one,” they croon on the chorus of the Digi-produced cut.
The union comes as one neither star was shy about expressing elation over.
“This collaboration is special to me for more than one reason; I’m obsessed with this song; our voices marry together perfectly,” Bree said in a statement. “It magically came together from a hangout in the studio; I love Khalid for his light and his incredible character, I’m really proud to call him a friend, and now musical collaborator. This release will be major, very excited for the world to hear!”
Khalid echoed the sentiment.
“I’ve been a supporter of Bree since long before I even met her, and I have always been a fan of her artistry,” he added. “She has always been a superstar in my eyes and I’m beyond excited to share this moment and collaboration with someone who I can call a genuine friend!”

With collaborative ventures or solo singles like ‘New Normal,’ ‘Last Call,’ ‘Present,’ ‘Skyline,’ and ‘Satellite,’ singer-songwriter Khalid kept fans fed with new music over the last two years and eager to learn the fate of his third studio album – the serially delayed ‘Everything is Changing.’
And while he’s yet to offer an official update on the project’s status, he continues to tease cuts that may line its tracklist. The latest of such stature is ‘Softest Touch.’
A mellow, laidback groove, ‘Touch’ hears Khalid praise a love interest for having everything he’s looking for in a woman.
“You’ve got the softest touch, I just can’t get enough / When it comes to you, you are the one I want / You’ve got the softest touch, I just can’t get enough / This touch, you’ll always be the one I want,” he croons on the hook of the Vaughn Oliver, Blake Straus, and Nico Stadi-produced jam.

Khalid is back with the 2023 heartbreak anthem we didn’t know we needed!
Teaming with Australian dance trio PNAU, the GRAMMY-nominated singer has dropped ‘The Hard Way’ – an EDM banger that masterfully weaves its high BPM with lyrics that speak of struggling to move on after the love has gone.
“I wish we could’ve came to some solution / Through all the conflict, find a resolution / But now we’re sitting in this empty room and / You’re pushin’ me aside,” Khalid sings ahead of the tune’s chorus. “When you said / Both of us just have to learn the hard way / I sit here for hours, begging you to stay / Since you’re leaving me, I’ll never be the same.”
The latest taste of new music from the 25-year-old ahead of the release of his third studio album, ‘Everything is Changing,’ look inside to hear ‘The Hard Way.’
Following a slew of uncharted releases (‘Skyline,’ ‘Last Call,’ ‘Present,’ New Normal,’ and more), last week saw singer-songwriter Khalid score a chart triumph with the Marshmello-led ‘Numb’ – his first Hot 100 top 40 single since 2020’s ‘Be Like That’ with Kane Brown and Swae Lee peaked at #19.
Hoping to make capital of the momentum, the 24-year-old is giving music lovers yet another taste of new music set to line his forthcoming studio album, ‘Everything is Changing,’ via the new song ‘Satellite.’
Produced by Chrome Sparks, the tune likens a fading love to that of a satellite drifting in space.
“Saw the news / All of a sudden left me so confuse,” Khalid croons on the emo track. “They’re tеlling stories that you’re leaving soon / Thеy’ll never know what you’ve been going through, ooh-ooh-ooh.”

Nearly 5 years after cracking the Hot 100’s top 40 with the now 5x Platinum hit ‘Silence,’ singer Khalid and producer/DJ are looking to crank up the noise and repeat the feat with their new collaboration, ‘Numb.’
“I wanna get numb / And forget where I’m from / ‘Cause lookin’ in your eyes / Like lookin’ at the sun / I feel like you’re the moon / I feel like I’m the one,” K sings in his signature styling.
The collaboration comes amid Khalid’s promotion of his solo endeavors, particularly ‘Skyline’ and ‘Last Call’ (which are both expected to be on his third studio album ‘Everything is Changing’ when it’s released later this year).
As we anxiously await updates on that project, look inside to hear the magic he and Marshmello have created.
Over his short but storied career, Khalid has unapologetically toed the line between Pop and R&B with hits like ‘Location,’ ‘Love Lies,’ ‘Talk,’ and more.
However, with his most recent single ‘Skyline,’ the 7x GRAMMY nominee soared to new personal Pop heights with a feel-good formula that tastes of nothing but sweet summer.
“’Skyline’ to me is a recharge and full of summer vibes,” said Khalid in a press release about the tune. “I hope it brings my fans joy and gets them through any dark times they may be going through.”
As buzz around the track and its accompanying colorful music video picks up, Khalid’s shining a light on the latter via a special behind the scenes clip.

After watching his latest body of work, 2021’s ‘Scenic Drive’ EP, take a wrong turn off the Billboard 200 after just one week of chart placement, Khalid‘s looking to get back on the road to chart glory with his latest single ‘Skyline.’
Reportedly set to line his next studio album, ‘Everything is Changing,’ ‘Skyline’ soars as summery Pop bop that sees the crooner show off his musical versatility.
“’Skyline’ to me is a recharge and full of summer vibes,” said Khalid in a press release for the song. “I hope it brings my fans joy and gets them through any dark times they may be going through.”
Accompanying its April 29 release with a colorful music video directed by Levi Turner and Cody LaPlant, look inside to see K get down and get up in a hot air balloon, rolling hills, and more to live up to the tune’s title.
Khalid has been busy cooking up new music.
For example, he has just shared his most recent single, ‘Skyline.’ The disco-infused R&B song is his second release of the year. Previously, he shared his song ‘Last Call’ earlier this year.
Across ‘Skyline,’ Khalid sings about running away with his love interest and getting lost with them as he uses metaphors of the city to showcase this. He can be heard singing:
“Won’t you take my hand, hop into my skyline? / It’s only just a rebuild, but I swear it feels real / When you take my hand in my passenger side.“
The song follows the release of his 2021 mixtape ‘Scenic Drive’ and is expected to appear on his forthcoming third studio album ‘Everything Is Changing.’

Anitta has, at long last, unlocked her brand new album ‘Versions of Me.’
A bonafide superstar in her home country of Brazil as well as in the Latin market, the release serves as the performer’s official crossover effort in the Western sphere.
Fans have been given a taste of the project by way of singles such as the Cardi B-assisted ‘Me Gusta,’ ‘Faking Love’ featuring Saweetie, and seismic hit ‘Envolver’ – the latter of which rocketed to #1 on the Spotify Global Chart.
Now, the full LP has landed and brings with it 15 bops – including additional collabo jams with the likes of Khalid, Ty Dolla $ign, and Myke Towers.

In the 70-year history of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), only 76 songs have been certified Diamond (meaning they’ve respectively sold 10 million copies in the United States).
Of those megahits, only four boast ownership by Black male singers – a number upped this week thanks to the ongoing success of Khalid‘s debut single, 2016’s ‘Location.’
