Urban Pop’s permanently pouted lip posterboy Trey Songz is making rounds promoting his upcoming double mixtape releases for ‘Anticipation 2’ and “LemmeHoldDatBeat2” (both due November 1).  While the former is the follow-up to his famed ‘Anticipation’ mixtape (2009) and follows the same avenue  of R&B panty-dropping tunes, the latter sees the singer ditch his trademark howl for a flow.  Both will tide fans over until Songz opens Chapter 5 – his fifth studio album.

Most recently spotted with our friends at  SoulCulture, Songz modestly dished on his evolution into the realm of rap by stating:

“No singer can rap better than me. I think I rap better than most rappers.”

Somewhere deep in the realms of Pop Culture heaven, Kim Kardashian is splitting her sides with laughter.

For just hours after her former screen partner Ray J took to the radio to air out what he labelled a ‘physical altercation’ between himself and the Rapper Fabolous, he has back peddled on his claims.

Just hours after it was revealed a drug problem may have been the route cause for his ‘confused’ account of what really happened that evening.

Check out more images of Pop belter Adele in her spread in the October edition of Vogue UK, one day after the magazine’s  front cover surfaced online .

As previously reported, MTV introduced performance polls this year to honor its past best performances.  With categories like ‘Most Iconic VMA Performance’, ‘Best Pop Performance’, etc., the polls were met with mixed reviews due to the absence and/or under-representation of some of music’s most praised acts (in certain categories).

Though originally said to be announced in the moments leading into the awards’ 28th annual showing on Sunday, MTV is ready to whet a few appetites by unveiling what fans voted as the ‘Best VMA Performance Ever’.

Who did fans vote into the top spot?  Find out after the jump:

Although rumors have been swirling for months about pop diva Mariah Carey’s involvement on the reality talent competition X Factor USA, the extent of that involvement has yet to be confirmed.  However, producer/media mogul Simon Cowell has been quite vocal of his desire to add Carey to the judging panel.

People reports:

“You can’t say no to Mariah,” says Cowell, 51. “We have to find a role for her. I’m a huge fan of hers – not just as an artist, but as a person, and I love her to death.”

Albeit unknown if the role will be permanent, guest judge, or guest mentor, this is not the first time Cowell has admitted attempting to get Carey on the show (whom he says  “wanted to be involved in the show from day one”).  Given the singer’s reported album due this fall, the show could work as a great outlet to plug it.  And, while the formula yielded alleged diva nemesis Jennifer Lopez mixed results, Nicole Scherzinger and Carey could see otherwise.

But, with the show premiering on September 21st, we’re certain a confirmation of Carey’s involvement (or lack thereof) is forthcoming.  Read the story in its entirety.

Should Mariah Carey be a judge on X-Factor USA?

Lately the ladies of DC3 have been making quite the (collective and separate) splash across charts and headlines alike.  And, with former members Kelly Rowland and Beyonce both currently riding Billboard 200’s top 10, Michelle Williams is said to be readying her own return to the charts.  In an in depth interview with our friends over at The BoomBox the ‘We Break the Dawn’ singer broke news about her upcoming album – sounds, guests, and much more.

In what has been sure to garner strong reactions from both sides of the fence, the MTV Video Music Awards 2011 supposed snubbing of Rihanna is a topic that will be sure to remain hot on every one’s lips until the event itself is over.

Being excluded from all the major categories, including Best Pop Video and Best Female Video, the only time the singer’s  name appears in the nominations is when it is following the name of the act whose music she featured on.

With Katy Perry leading the way with a ground breaking set of nominations and with even budding acts such as Tyler The Creator and Kreayshawn finding their way into one category or another, could  MTV be punishing the ‘SOS‘ singer for the controversies she incurred earlier on this year?

There is the fact that she is being sued by two world renowned photographers who both claim her ‘S&M’ video was nothing more than a shameless rip off of their work and then of course there is the ‘Man Down‘ video.

The video which saw her come under fire from the Parents Television Council who claim the visual like the song itself incited violence.

We here at That Grape Juice are more than eager to hear what you think the real reason Ms. Fenty was left out of this year’s nominations is.

For despite what anyone says about her, the starlet has succeeded in becoming an artist whose impossible to ignore videos are both highly anticipated and passionately debated.
