Undeniably, this week’s top Pop news came in the form of the comeback of one of the biggest selling group in history – the Spice Girls!
To celebrate the tour de force, From The Vault journeys back to the 90’s with their retro-sounding jam ‘Stop.’
A tribute of sorts to the Motown era, ‘Stop’ was written by the ‘Girls alongside production duo Absolute. It was released as the third single from their sophomore effort ‘Spiceworld’ in March 1998. This single is also infamous for breaking their consecutive streak of #1’s on the UK chart, after peaking at #2.
It was a Top 5 in both Canada and Australia as well as a Top 20 hit in the US.
For the song’s visual, the British belles took it to the streets of Dublin for a carefree affair.
The clip saw Scary, Sporty, Baby, Ginger, and Posh perform Supremes-like choreography but also interacting with the locals and later on performing at the town fair to wide acclaim.
Notably, it was their last video to be released that featured Geri Halliwell until their comeback as a five-piece in 2007.

This week marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Spice Girls. Once again a foursome, they’re about to embark on a mammoth UK stadium tour.
With the scheduled dates literally selling out in a matter of minutes as soon as they became available and the girls already adding extra dates, word is that 2019 will see the band expanding the tour to the rest of the globe.
Now that’s we call Spice World!
Welcome back, ladies!
The Michael Jackson brand has proven to be a billion dollar machine in the near-decade since his death.
A series of savvy moves by his Estate have seen the King Of Pop moonwalk into the new generation and amass huge sums in the process.
Indeed, there have Circus Soleil shows, TV projects, exhibitions, and posthumous albums.
The latter, however, has been a little touch and go. 2014’s ‘Xscape’ was well-received, yet 2010’s ‘Michael’ remains a bone of contention with many fans. So much so that a sect filed a class action suit alleging that vocals had been doctored and, in instances, totally fabricated. A claim that has been denied by the Estate.
Yet, as the success of ‘Don’t Matter To Me’ – Drake‘s “collaboration” with MJ on his ‘Scorpion’ album – proved, there remains a healthy appetite for unheard material from the late, great megastar.
And it appears the hunger for new music will be fed – just in a different manner.

The ever-elusive Sade has made a rare return to the spotlight in support of Steve McQueen‘s new movie ‘Widows.’
She’s produced an all-new track titled ‘The Big Unknown,’ which plays during the end-credits of the Viola Davis led flick.
As with most things “Sade,” this wasn’t a musical submission by the numbers. The semantics of the film – which is rooted in female agency and independence – informed the creation of the song.
That Grape Juice attended the MOBO screening of ‘Widows’ in London and were privy to a Q&A with McQueen.
During the sit-down, the award-winning director discussed deep conversations about the importance of the movie’s message with Sade, her love for the TV original, and more.
