As headlines go, Aretha Franklin’s death has gripped on a global scale.

Yet, as the age old adage relays – the show must go on and such is the case for Ariana Grande who sprinkled new album ‘Sweetener’ on the masses today.

True to form, the powerhouse vocalist is leaving no stone unturned and her latest stop was The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

During her appearance, Grande paid homage to the Queen of Soul by teaming up with The Roots for a live showing of ‘Natural Woman.’ She also spoke about her encounters with the legend.

Elsewhere, she opened up about her LP, her engagement to comedian Pete Davidson, teaming with Madonna for the ‘God Is A Woman’ video, and more.

At long last, Ariana Grande‘s fourth album ‘Sweetener’ is available for download and streaming in full.

Admittedly, although kicked off by the Max Martin-produced top 10 single ‘No Tears Left to Cry,’ the project has not been greeted with the buzz that’s forerun its three predecessors.  Nevertheless, with top 20 single ‘God is a Woman’ and the Nicki Minaj-assisted ‘Light is Coming’ to light its path to digital shelves, the album goes to chart battle against today with hopes of becoming the singer’s third non-consecutive chart-topper.

On the 41st anniversary of the death of King of Rock N’ Roll Elvis Presley, August 16th claimed yet another musical monarch:  Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

The 76-year-old music icon succumbed to pancreatic cancer today after a longstanding bout with the disease and the announcement has left her legion of fans, admirers, and the immeasurable league of musicians she’s influenced devastated in its wake.

Some of the latter took to social media to express their grief and gratitude to the R&B potentate.  With top names like fellow legendary divas Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion to today’s female R&B and soul  leaders Fantasia, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Brandy, Monica, Adele and more sending their condolences, see their words inside:

With Nicki Minaj declaring her ‘Queen’-dom on her new album, it’s naturally sparked debate and discussion surrounding the other ladies populating the female rap landscape.

Specifically Cardi B and Remy Ma – two names Onika has clashed with in recent times.
