With a confirmed performance slot at the show, Christina arrived at the ‘American Music Awards’ nominations event in LA yesterday to both announce the nominees and speak to press on the red carpet.

It was there, reports reveal today, that she shared her thoughts on the ongoing feud between ‘American Idol’ judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

Though her detractors would have it downplayed, Nicki Minaj holds the record for being Pop’s highest charting Female Rapper, recently becoming the first Femcee to score a #1 Dance single sans a featuring act.

Now, in celebration of her record breaking success, ‘Oath’ belle Cher Lloyd has spoken in the star’s favor…declaring that she has ‘changed Pop music‘.

Looks like FOX’s ‘American Idol’ is looking to give the idea of musical chairs a new meaning.

As has made its share of circulation, the speculation that ‘If You Had My Love’ singer Jennifer Lopez had intentions to return to the next season of ‘American Idol’ was ended when the songstress officially announced her departure today.

Indeed, yesterday did see the exit of fellow singer Steven Tyler from the show’s judging panel (as Lopez implied the chance of her following suit).  Well, the Bronx beauty cleared up any rumors as she phoned in to Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show to tearfully impart news of her pending departure.

We guess not even that cool multimillion dollar payout was enough to keep the ‘On the 6’ maestra onboard.  Take a listen below:

It’s certainly been a long road for crooner Phillip Phillips.  Narrowed down from thousands of contestants, the young singer bested 16-year-old powerhouse vocalist Jessica Sanchez  to be named 2012’s American Idol.  With a record setting 132 million votes between the two of them, it was ultimately the 21-year-old guitarist that took the prize.

While we look forward to music from both of the blossoming vocalists, we at That Grape Juice extend our congratulations to Mr. Phillips for being crowned this year’s American Idol!

Since as far as anyone can remember, the amount of money an act makes holds just as much as interest as the music that brings that money in.

So, in a bid to quench the nosy thirsts of fan boys/girls the worldover, Billboard have released their list of Music’s Top 40 Money Makers.

Focusing only on US income, the list takes into account how much each act made in 2011 from publishing, touring and recorded music sales and does not  include finances made from sponsorship or endorsement deals.

It is also worth noting that the list accounts for net earnings and not gross revenue, and so to some extent differs from Forbes annual list.

‘Dip It Low’ diva Christina Milian has certainly kept a low profile over the last few months, only gracing headlines for The Dream-related drama and occasional snapshots of outings.  Now, the former Disney darling has joined the cast of NBC’s hit reality talent show ‘The Voice’ and is using her voice to act as the show’s Social Media Correspondent.

Still promising faithful fans she is putting the finishing touches on a forthcoming LP, Milian has shifted her focus for now to ‘The Voice’ and all related ventures – starting with hyping its sophomore season premiere this Sunday (following the Superbowl).

See Christina chat it up with Access Hollywood about everything from dating, being African American/Latina, and, of course, what fans can expect from this season’s ‘Voice’ after the jump:

‘Bleeding Love’ belter Leona Lewis wasn’t exactly showing much love to chart rivals in a recent interview with ‘Time Out Dubai’.  The 26-year-old, whose most recent ‘Collide‘-lead LP ‘GlassHeart’ was pushed back to a March release, lent her opinion on the current status of the music industry’s vocalists to the worldly magazine, even suggesting reality talent show contestants best their established counterparts.

While many-a-talent show, including ‘American Idol’, ‘The Voice’, and Lewis’ own native ‘X Factor’ have boasted immeasurable talents in their years, is Leona’s assessment far-fetched?

As anticipation mounts for the reboot of VH1’s famed diva-filled spectacular, the music channel announced a new reason for fans to tune in.  Already boasting big names like Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, and American Idol alums Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, VH1 unveiled today that the ‘soul-themed’ showing will also include a tribute to fallen soul singer Amy Winehouse.  The 27-year-old, whose untimely death rocked the music world this past summer, is set to be honored by fellow blue eyed soulstress Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, rapper Nas, and more.

The news surfaces days after the singer’s recently released, posthumous album ‘Lioness:  Hidden Treasures’ roared onto U.K. charts with impressive numbers.  ‘Divas Celebrate Soul’ airs December 19th at 9pm on VH1.  This year’s show is also set to include performances by Jessie J and veteran R&B group Boyz II Men.

With a career spanning over a decade, Christina Aguilera remains one artist whose life and music remain just as topical today as they were when she first started out.

Enjoying her fair show of highs and a number of unforgettable personal lows, to say her public image has been bitter/sweet would be an understatement.

Loved by many, loathed by some, we here at That Grape Juice want to know.

Is Christina Aguilera the performer people just love to hate?
